Calgary's Sutter is depressedAw hell, his father just died too. That's all gotta suck 100 X more on the inside. :(

I always wondered about the 7th Sutter brother...the one that didn't play hockey.

I'll bet he's a homo...

No homos in Viking. Then again, all you Canadians support gay marriage, so tell us how you really feel. There's a reason where Maple Queef Gardens was where it was, right?

Finally, the law will recognize Wendel Clark's relationships!

Not since they ran you out of town on a rail, anyway...

He's ****ing depressed...

He's ****ing depressing to watch...

Too bad he's the (Great) one who could have bridged the gap between the owners and players, and be the games savior.

But noooo. Instead of getting in front of a camera the last week and leading both sides to a 45mil hard cap he sat put and let his game teter on the brink of extinction.

Just as he avoided the corners when he played, he avoided the dirty work on the sports darkest eve.

Gretzkey The Great One - is a fraud.

No, it isn't his 'Job', but it could have been his mission. And if it wasn't Gretzky's mission to save the game of hockey, than who's was it?

I don't know what he wanted other than to tow the line. He never stood up.

come on now guys, enough of the gay bashing.

You have shown yourself to have the "very soul" of what it means to be a Canuck. Congratulations. Paul Martin would be proud of you.

Of course, Ireland would be very disappointed.

Why oh why is perhaps the greatest player of all time behind a bum who isn't even a hockey fan.

Gretzky let the game down.

when did gretzky let hockey down before? He is not jesus, he can't just come in and solve these issues himself. Its 2005 Lala, enough with the gay bashing. It's disgraceful and i won't tolerate it on this board.

Gretzky's hidden behind Bettman's dress before.

Please keep your religious bigotry to yourself, as well as your discrimination based on national origin, hypocrite.

And Ireland would be very disappointed in you.

A $45 million cap doesn't mean you have to spend it all.

bduff54
February 18th, 2005, 12:22:39 PM
fair enough, i just don't see why gretzky is being blamed for this, the guy may ahve been the best player of all time but i don't see how that relates to the CBA.

sahlensguy

His credibility with fans, players, owners is simply unmatched.

The blame goes for what Grtezky didn't do for the game of hockey considering the potential he had set the hard cap.

If he was committed to that #, no one was going to tell him he was wrong. Not the commish, the NHLPA, or fans, no one.

The Great One (ha) alone, or teamed up with Lemieux crusading to save the game would have been a slam dunk (oop, wrong sports reference. But there's only roundball now anyhow).

Don't look now but there is a pulse on that body laying on that slab (NHL) now maybe guys like Gretzky,Lemieux,Shanahan and Yzerman can revive that corpse.Anything is possible when you sincerely try.
