Only @ 100 players tops can make big bucks ($1M +) in Europe, but you're right...if I were a European player, I'd say **** this, call me when you settle this and I'll think about it.

I played pro hockey in Europe and quite frankly other then a handful of teams in Switzerland, Germany, and Russia they won't come even close. Also, those teams have import quotas so they will take the stars and that's it.

I could see many of the Euro players staying put. Especially if the money is equal.

you can make 6 figures if you're a top player in Switzerland or Germany. In Russia some are making 7 figures, but trust me you don't want to play either.

I had a friend who's team had to go on strike and they were in the elite league. The mafia controls everything and corruption is rampant.
