Thanks for the heads up on that,LB.

Tix for the house show go on sale Feb.13th(priced at $40,$30 & $20). For the PPV,prices are TBD.

IIRC,this would be the second PPV held at HSBC. There was another one;I'm not sure when it was(but it was a few years ago,and the parking ramp was used as the backdrop for the street fight match).

Can't wait to see JBL fall ass backwards through an 8 minute main event at both shows. The crowd will be asleep.

The first one had the main event where if someone lost then Vince was fired as CEO. I think it was the Rock versus...I can't remember... All I remember is Vince was fired. Other matches were China and Billy Gunn vs X-Pac and Road Dogg for the rights to DX's royalties. I believe the Hardys had a match as well. It was so long ago I can't recall all the matches, but it ended up being a decent PPV.

[edit]
I'm thinking it was Rock vs Tripple H, and the Rock won...but someone will have to check on that.

Update: New start time for the card-its now a 6:00 pm ET bell-time. Good news, now one of my friends can still work the morning shift-8:00 am ET to 3:00 pm ET-then attend the wrestling card. Otherwise he would have had to ask off for the day-thus not getting paid or be forced to see if he could switch days with someone else.

Fully Loaded 1999 was the last WWE (well they were WWF at the time) PPV to be held in Buffalo, NY. It was held at the HSBC Arena on (I think) July 24, 1999. The top two matches were the Undertaker vrs Steve Austin in a "First Blood" match and Triple H vrs The Rock in a "Strap" match.

The Undertaker-Steve Austin match did have a stipulation where if Vince McMahons guy lost, he would have to retire or give up control of the WWF at the time. I think Austin defeated the Undertaker so Vince (who was backing the Undertaker) had to retire at the time. (I think Vince returned around Survivor Series that year) The win also helped Austin retain the WWF Heavyweight Title.

The Triple H-The Rock "Strap" match saw Triple H retaining the WWF Intercontinental (?) European title (?) I remember highlights of this match was shown on that "My Life As A Pro Wrestler" special that MTV showed later that year. (They did a week in a life of Triple H/Chyna as of one of the stories. Other stories was that one "dip****" who went to Les Thatchers school and a look at Tony Atlas troubles inside/outside the ring on the independent circuit.)

Other Matches:: I think Al Snow either beat or lost to D-Lo Brown in a Hardcore Title Match-this match went outside the building and the pin happened against a fence? Yes, Chyna/Billy Gunn fought Road Dogg/X-Pac for the rights to DX. (Chyna/Gunn won the match and didn't shortly after-a few weeks later-they all got back together?) Hardys and Michael Hayes (who was their manager at the time) lost the tag titles to Bradshaw/Simmons (I hated calling him Farroq) in 3 on 2 handicap match. (Hayes didn't get pinned either.) I think Edge lost the Intercontinential? European? title back to Jeff Jarrett (who Edge defeated the previous night in Toronto for the belt.) I forget what the others matches were. Gotta go see if I can find the tape of the PPV-its somewhere in my house.

Just a reminder about the WWE Smackdown "Road To Wrestlemania 21" card that will be taking place at the HSBC Arena on Sunday evening with a 6:00 pm ET starting time. Heres the card as of right now:

Main Event: John Cena & The Big Show vrs JBL and Orlando Jordan. (Huh? I thought it was a three way dance for the title with Jordan being the odd man out? Maybe since the title is on the line at WM between Cena/JBL-they don't wanna give away that JBL will have to win so he can defend at WM. Prediction: Cena & Show win-Cena gets some revenge and F-U's Jordan.)

World Tag Titles or WWE Tag Titles-forget which: Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio vrs The Bashams. (Huh?-once again. Was supposed to be Eddie vrs Rey here. That match is supposed to be at WM so once again, WWE not wanting to spoil things by doing the match here. Oh well...Prediction: Eddie and Rey keep the titles.)

Hardcore Holly vrs John Heidenreich (Who cares! Bathroom breaktime.)

Cruiserweight Title: Paul London vrs Chavo Guerrero. (Once again, these two are supposed to face each other at WM-so why is the WWE giving us a preview here? Oh, I'm glad they are, no bathroom break here! Prediction: Chavo wins, cheats, keeps title in an exciting 15 min match-setting up "Ultimate London" to win at WM.)

Smackdown Divas Miss Buffalo Bikini Shoot: Torrie, Michelle McCool, Dawn Marie and Jackie. (Who cares who wins!!! Its WWE Divas in Bikinis!)

Mark Jindrak vrs Luther Reigns-Guest Ref: Kurt Angle. (Don't care about this feud or tiff or whatever it is. Prediction: Angle gets pissed after 10 mins of his "friends" fighting and Angle Slams both and puts both into the Angle Lock. I would much rather have a "hometown" olympic challenge here and give a non Buffalo wrestler a shot at the medals. Hell bring out Matt Copperalli (sp) and let him and Angle wrestle for less than three minutes.)

Scotty Too Hotty and Charlie Haas vrs Johnny Nitro and Joey Matthews (with Melina) (whoo hoo Melina! Prediction: Wouldn't be surprise to see the OVW Boys get a win here. Hopefully Haas after WM via the draft-heads over to RAW to feud with Sheldon over the IC title.)

Johnny Jeter vrs Rene Dupee (Prediction: Rene better win this one!)

Despite the card now going from good to ok with the changes, myself and a couple of my friends will be attending-sitting in the cheap $20 seats somewhere on the end. Not sure where the tickets are as one of my friends has them. (To update on a previous post-my friend Dennis got the day off anyway and he worked his schedule five days this past week so he didn't miss any pay.) I'll try to post my thoughts on the show sometime on Monday.

LB...

Note: A similar card may take place tonight in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada and as usually is the case, the WWE will have the same results so if you are attending on Sunday, don't look at reviews of the Oshawa show. (I've been burn in the past when a pre-card lineup for a show in Syracuse was way different than next nights Buffalo show. (Maybe only two out of eight matches were the same and those were just prelim matches) So I looked at the results of the Syracuse show and every match was the same as the scheduled lineup for the card in Buffalo! Man was I pissed off! Still I attended the show (hey I paid like $25 for the tickets!) and kept the results too myself as to not spoil them to my friends. And yes, aside from one prelim change (which had the winner in Syracuse losing in Buffalo.) and a DQ loss for one wrestler instead of a countout loss, the card was the same way-even down to the way the matches ended.)

This has to be one of the worst wrestling cards ever...

SD! can't put together a solid card, they have nothing to work with. I feel sorry for those who attend.
