Hey Spiked (or anybody else) you seem to be pretty knowledgable about the salary cap and to enjoy looking into these kind of things. Would it be possible to have an analysis or where we stand cap-wise as well as the salary status of a few important players?

Damn... wanted to post this in the main forum...
Any way a mod could move it there please?

Now that is a very BIG project.
I will see if I can find an updated analysis by someone else that looks accurate.

Now add in a few key player cuts which will save us close to 2 million like Prelieaou.
Then figure Moulds's restructure and extension will widdle his 8.5 million cap # down to 3.5 million which saves us another 5 million.
Then add in our rookie salary pool # which does not include a #1 pick or a #5 pick this year.
This is all projection but the Bills are in rock solid shape for FA shopping, and we could very well be 10 - 12 million under.
Sign Big Pat, and upgrade our OT and OG positions.

Don't forget that we save 2.2 million by cutting Bledsoe. We are in fine cap shape. When you consider that most contracts escalate the most in year 2, it's reasonable to eat the 4.3 million for Bledsoe now as opposed to spreading it. Don't get confused and assume that means it hurts our cap. It just means that we only save 2.2 million by cutting him compared to what it would cost to keep him.

Most teams are in great shape for Free agent shopping. Most Teams have learned how to manage their cap.

Exactly.
That is why there are NO more bargains available in FA and in fact, FA players more often than NOT receive more money then they are worth due to the competition for their services.

Exactly - probably the reason Teflon Tom felt compelled to "cut" Drew's pay down to $8.75 mil.
Looks like MM may have earned himself enough clout to finally force TD to correct the QB situation by cuttin our losses with our Hall of Fame QB. :fishfry:

that's quite an honor.
However, I think its an attempt to quarantine the Drew apologists in one place.

I look at it more of a place to quarantine those who feel they need to bash the guy even though most of us already know he's done, and don't feel like reading about him every five minutes...
Cause really.. it gets old... Theres 51 other players on the team... we know one's done... (either cut or pay cut)
