IF, and I did say IF, J.P.Losman is the opening day starter? I really believe that Ben Roethlisberger had a best case scenario with a strong ground game and a fine recieving corps. Therefore, why not sign a WR like Jerry Porter? A lineup with the likes of Moulds, Evans, and Porter would provide a dynamic trio that simply would allow Losman many ways to keep ANY defense off balance! My feeling is that the Bills would need to strive to sign Jonus Jennings and Pat Williams in free agency too and that could push the Bills into playoff contention for 2005. The running game would also flourish with this set of wideouts causing trouble. Any takers??

noway we could resign jennings AND pat, and also sign porter...if we had the money, I'd be all for it. :judge:

and restructuring Moulds and possibly a few others, the money might be there to allow for this dream team of mine! If pushed on it though, I'd sacrifice Williams for the versatility that this offensive lineup could provide! In that case draft a DT in the 2nd round!

Doubtful, some team will likely overpay for Porter, just like the Lions did for Az Hakim and the Falcons did for Peerless Price.

You heard it here first.
Jonas Jennings will remain a Buffalo Bill. Bledsoe will be cut, and Jennings will get 6 years $30 million with a 9 million Bonus.
OG David Baas will be our biggest signing this offseason.

porter is far fromm being hakim or price. he is a #1. with that being said, no way he comes to buffalo to become possibly a #2 or #3. maybe if he was all about winning. but after watching him for a few years he seems like a me-first guy. he will go somewhere that he can be a true #1 and get paid like it. however, if he wanted to come to buf, id sign him in a sec.

Sure, why not.
Name the price.
There is a reason TD or someone told Mort that March 1st was the day Bledsoe is gone.
Either its to sign Jennings or someother big name guy.
Im predicting that Bothe Jennings and Williams will sign before free agency.
OR look for the Bills to make a HUGE signing. Thing is, This year I have no idea who they will be after. Other years we knew Fletcher, Spikes, and Vincent. This year who would we be after?
By the way, we have gotten the guy we wanted everytime.

Word, I thought I was the only one who noticed. I never thought we would get Spikes and Milloy. Guys want to come here because we are a winning team. Go for Darren Howard, and swap Roberto Garza for Jennings if he doesn't want to come back. We have the best Oline coach so we don't need the best Oline talent.

If Bledsoe is realeased before free agency, then TD has something big planned.
March 1st is the day before free agency. Its strange that March 1st would be the day and not June 1st.

Atlanta has salary cap problems and would struggle to free up enough cash to sign JJ along with there own FA's and other needs.
Most NFL teams are set at LT. There will be a few out there looking but the with Jones and Pace also available JJ can easily be a value player. The Bills have a definite shot at signing JJ.
as for Pat Williams, he wants to be a Bill and will take a little bit less to do so. I see PW coming back to the Bills as a no brainer. PW and Adams are good friends, and Adams signed with the Bills partially because he wanted to play next to PW.
The Bills are in rock solid salary cap shape. There is more then enough cap room to resign both JJ and PW. Don't forget these deals can be backloaded some to create cap space this year. This can be done without cutting players and restrucuturing some deals. After a few cuts and a Moulds restructure (Eric already mentioned he would help out so expect an extension) we will have money available to get into the FA market some.
I also expect to see the Bills be player in the FA picking up interior OL as well. There is a plethora of quality guards on the open market.
I do not forsee the Bills signing a FA WR, but thats just an opinion.

My predictions:
Williams signs at a discount because he wants to remain a Bill
JJ stays at a modest OL contract
Bledsoe is gone (mixed feelings on this subject)
OL and DE top priorities in draft, RB later if TH is traded
Free agents: I think TD will surprise us with something special!!

The JJ to Atlanta bit is so stupid. Anybody who's obsessed over a few comments to an Atlanta radio station, where half the league lives, is sadly misguided. As someone pointed out, Atlanta is in poor cap shape, and I doubt they're going to go after a big name offensive lineman when they clearly have bigger issues at receiver. Vick doesn't stay in the pocket anyway. I get annoyed when people over-react to the extent that I've seen over Jennings saying it would be cool to play in Atlanta. For all I know, he could end up signing with ATL if they decide he's worth big bucks to them. It's not going to be because of those meaningless comments he made a few years ago.

IMO, if Walter Jones does not get franchised TD will jump on him. He will be expensive but worth every penny.
With Moulds's restructure the Bills are approximately 13 million under the cap. If THG is traded we'll save 1.25 million, cut Prioleau and we save yet another 1.2. If DB is released we save 2 million.
We could be 17.5 million under the cap this year. TH probably won't be traded until closer to the draft. So his coin will likely money in the bank later on.
So with 16 million we should be able to re-sign Pat Williams which will cost us probably 3 mil a year.
This is my fantasy free agent period and guesstimations on cost.
16 - 3 = 13
Re-sign Marcus Price which will probably be 1 mil a year
13 - 1 = 12
re-sign Neufeld probably 600K
12 - .6 = 11.4
Sign Walter Jones ( maybe a 5 year deal worth 30 mil and a 15 - 20 mil bonus, make 2007 a big year becuase its not a salary cap year))
11.4 - 5 = 6.4
Sign a top FA Guard
6.4 - 3 = 3.4
Sign Jerome Bettis as Willis's backup
3.4 - 1 = 2.4
Now we trade TH and gain 1.2 million to help pay for draft picks and still have room to pick up a value player or 2.
Our offseason should be very fruitful. I wouldn't mind seeing the Bills grab a legitimate #3 WR or a Buubba Franks at TE, but I believe we are solid enough at the TE position

Walter Jones would be a great signing, but I'm not sure he's worth the money (if we can get JJ cheaper).
Price: too much
Neufeld: too much
2007 will have a cap
Bettis would cost more than 1 million.
Are you sure about Henry's cap savings? I haven't seen any numbers and would like to know that as well.
Also, Moulds' new cap fugure saves us over 3 million (not the 2 million initially beleived) so we're actually currently about 14 million under rather than 13.
:sunny: FAcy should be nice

I have seen up and down numbers about where we are at and where the 05 cap limit will be so I went with the safer number. I also took into consideration the cutting of Prioleau and DB, and the future trade of TH.
There is no salary cap negotiated into the 2007 season, Do you forsee that changing ? I do believe the players wanted one season uncapped in exchange for the contract extension from last period. We'll see, but as of now its uncapped. The players may agree to an extension but I bet the cap restarts in 2008.
My contract numbers for Price and Neufeld may be high, but I prefer to show a worse case scenario which means we have could have even moremoney available.
I think Jones is worth it by far considering JJ is only above average on his best days. He's solid, but were talking championship OL here. If the choice is Jones or JJ take Jones.

I think Jonas is underrated.
Wouldn't it be cool to be looking at almost $20 million of free space after cuts though?
Hayward/Howard.... come to Buffalo
