i didn't see it but on some other boards people say he was pretending to moon the crowd, im just wondering if its as bad as the announcers seemed to act like

After he caught the TD he went over to the goal post and pretended to moon the crowd. Was it the wrong thing to do, yes but they will hammer Randy all week for it. But If TO did it would have been harmless fun. Hypocrisy at it's best.

i dislike joe buck. perhaps being a sox fan and witnessing his horrible commentary thorughout the playoffs that i felt was biassed and bad anyway
buck overreacted. a classless act would've been moss actually taking off his pants and actually mooning hte crowd.
moss's was obsecne but eh i could care less i'm sure he'll get fined.

He was pretending to wipe his butt on the goalpost.

I don't have a problem with it. He didn't go in the crowd and do anything to the fans. The fans talked crap to him all game and he replied. The announcers are blowing this way out of proportion.

It wasn't just Joe Buck, it was afterwards that had me surprised about the reaction. In his postgame interview, he just said he was having a little fun during the game, it was just a touchdown celebration, and if there was heat to take, he'd take it.
Terry Bradshaw said the league should come down hard on him;
Howie Long said based on the mooning and the interview that you equate talent with class;
Even Jimmy Johson came down on him. Maybe they're just oversensitive this year because the NFC sucks so bad.
I've seen alot more offensive acts by professional football players.

I'm not the only one calling Moss a punk. Jason Whitlock is a very classy "urban" man:
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=whitlock/050106
Yes, Randy Moss is a coward and a punk and has the leadership skills of a five-year-old Girl Scout placed in charge of Navy Seals. Moss is not a winner. He contaminates and undermines everything with which he comes in contact. Dennis Green, the man who ignored Moss' rap sheet, looked like a genius for drafting the freakish wide receiver when he caught 17 touchdowns, averaged 19 yards per catch and ignited the Vikings to a 15-1 record in his rookie season.

There was real progress being made in this country, and it was thrown into full reverse by the dumbing-down that is hip-hop culture, which glorifies pimps and sluts and "gangstas". That's because of the strict control that the NFL keeps on it's players and their conduct and their uniforms.

If this was an isolated or his first offense we could all shrug it off.
He walked out on his teamates last week.
He tried to run over a female oficer.
I dont know how many times Ive heard that hes turned the corner and will be a leader on that team. its not gonna happen. Hes a very immature human being without a real grip on reality.

Reacting to what they do between the lines is all we really have to go on. You don't even know which point you're trying to make. What I'm saying is that Randy Moss is a punk because he walks off the field and gives up on his team, he makes a disgusting ass of himself to the fans, he takes plays off, and other documented instances of piss poor behavior too numerous to mention.

Sports is something I really would love to share with my kids, and brawls, fights in the stands, cursing, flipping fans the bird, r rated promos and halftime shows and now mooning the crowd after scoring a game clinching TD. It's been a great year for family sports entertainment, can't wait for next year.
I really don't think any of this stuff is going to do damage to my kids, but it's the sneak attack aspect of these things that gets me.

I said Moss was a punk, not a black punk, just a punk. You seem like a reasonable person, but I take that charge VERY seriously, and I believe it's a sword that cuts two ways. It looked to me like he simulated wiping his butthole on the Packers goalpost. If true, that is immensely more vulgar than a mooning.
I guess the best way to judge the class of Randy Moss is to remember how Thurman Thomas used to behave when scoring a touchdown. He gave the ball to the referee, took hugs from his teammates, and ran back to the sidelines.
Thurman Thomas or Randy Moss? Who would you want your kid to emulate?

My only question is Why is Randy Moss required to go by others standards of class and sportmanship?
In all honesty I think what he did is dumb. There are better celebrations, TKO celebrates but its fun. Nate Clements celebrates and its fun.
I'm sure many Viking fans thought it was hilarious.
Just because you or I don't like it dosen't really matter to Moss, or in the grand scheme of things dosen't really matter at all.
Do Not compare Nate to TO. What TO does is celebrate excellent plays in outlandish fashion. What Nate does is ridiculous, and requires nothing more than him making a simple tackle, or blowing his nose and getting "it all out". Clements is a joke.

nothing anyone discuss here really matters in the grand scheme of things
sportsmanship and class are concepts that has been around a long time, its not someone elses idea...its too bad many younger people such as Randy, and apparently you were not taught it.
Apparently me?
Apparently you never learned to not open your mouth about something you don't know about. I've never celebrated a TD or goal like that in my life.
Doing a dance or something to that effect after a TD, goal or whatever is fun and part of the emotion of the game. As long as it dosen't degrade the opponent who cares. It gets the fans fired up, gets the team fired up. When Spikes does his karate kick thing who does it hurt?
And I clearly stated that I thought what Moss did was dumb, but its hardly as bad as beating your wife, not paying child support, or getting a DUI. I think the backlash is blown out of proportion, he looked like an ass, he is percieved like an ass. Whats making it even worse is to continue talking about it.

i can only judge you by the things you post, you seem to think sportsmanship and class are dirty words. Mooning a road crowd standing on a star, things like that are done specificaly to "degrade the opponent". I will say whatever the hell i want, just like you or anyone else.
Doing a prerehearsed dance to show up the team is not part of the emotion of the game, you dont have to be an ass to be emotional.

Being a role model for kids is important. I do alot of work with kids through coaching and when I am coaching I act in a responsible way. There are other times when I would not be a good role model for kids like when I go out drinking and swaering and hitting on women.

From your attitude about this whole situation you obviously have never done anything wrong. You've never said a curse word in front of a kid. You've never flipped someone off while driving. You never did anything dumb with your army buddies back in the day. You've never had to much to drink and made an ass of yourself
If you can't honestly say yes to all those than judge away, but otherwise lay off.
And didn't I already say I coach kids and have for 4 years. I think in the grand scheme of things what he did was minor in comparison to most of the showboating that goes on and even a little funny. If i saw my kid do it i would knock him out. I expect every adult to act like they have some class, i dont see anything wrong with that expectation.

Jersey is right.
Not only Bryan Cox, but Tim Green, in his book, said Buffalo had the most out-of-controlfans. And then a few weeks ago, some financial analyst with a syndicated radio show -- apparently a Bengals fan -- was talking about how Buffalo had the most obnoxious fans, bar none, in professional sports [based on Bengals games he'd attended in Buffalo].
But unlike Mss, Buffalo fans are smart enough to do their obnoxious acts discretely.

If Hurls doesn't have the cajones, I'll do it.
Asking if I had the cajones? Haha, such fodder. You're talking to the idiot who called out the former Admin., and lost.

I just could NOT read all those pages, but IMO, it wasn't that big of a deal. He didn't show his ass, just faked it. BFD. And Philly will probably beat the heck out of them this weekend, so everything will be moot anyway.
My biggest problem with him was the week before when he left the field with 2 seconds left on the clock. THAT was classless.

Hypocrisy my ass. They're both low-life punks with no class. I hope somebody takes out Moss' knees.
I did not see it , but I am sick of players acting like punks and drawing attention to themselves by acting like drug addicted criminals. Their actions have nothing to do with the game. For the millions he is making he can act like man and take abuse from the fans.Their are handicaps children at every game and he could have given one of those kids a football. That would have been newsworthy. If one of those punks does that on a Bills goal post I hope 73,000 Bills fans moon Moss.

Moss' comments on the fine: "$10,000, next time I might shake my dick!"

I dont care for celebrations like that but I think Moss was a little justified since Dungy said that the Packers fans moon the away teams bus all the time.
