View Full Version : wys - can't you talk about RJ?
November 20th, 2001, 10:14:40 AM
Wys - Maybe it's buried in a message somewhere but I was interested in what you thought about AVP in the last game - doing fairly well with an offense that usually looks bad under RJ. But every single post is about Flutie! I know you don't like him - but don't you think you are going a little overboard. I think you are driving even RJ fans away. Flutie is not the threat to RJ right now (if RJ is still the quarterback you want for the Bills) - so I don't know why you continually feel the need to post 500 times about him...

Ahhh 12,
You are barking up the wrong tree. At the beginning of the season it was I who said what you have said, except that I had addressed it to the Flutie Fanatics and it was regarding Flutie. Not RJ. THEY were cluttering up the boards w/ sob stories about how we'd be FAR better off w/ Doug here and how we'd have been 4-1 at the time, blah, blah, blah,...
Payback! That's all. Most people know that this forum can be about anything in the NFL, so they don't come here if they want to talk about the Bills.
It's funny that you suggest I talk about RJ however. I do! On the main board however. VP and the other Bills as well. Just not here too much.
I'll consider it my mission to ensure that as many people as possible know the truth about Doug. He's doing it to himself. Many people seem to think that my talking about him is making him play bad. I'm simply reporting...

The Buffalo Range is a great board. I'm very impressed with the intelligence of many posters here as compared to TSW.
That said, can't Wys be required to post only at TSW? He would fit in perfectly there!

WYS who is it that hurt your feelings with their Flutie posts way back when and why are you still feeling so inadequate? :p

That's because there's nothing PRO to say about Flutie!
Before he started facing tougher D's and sucking, that's all there was on this board!
Some of you people have incredibly short memories. For all the abuse Wy's has taken for simply standing up for RJ, I think he deserves a few days, even weeks and months, to gloat! God knows you all were gloating earlier this year!
Most of you new guys (Judge, Bogus, and others) have no idea what the wing man has been through trying to support OUR QB over a San Diego "Never Was".
If Wy's has gone crazy, it's folks like you with your blind love for Flutie that has driven him to it. :D

Judge, you come in here DEMANDING instant respect. This goes back to your high and mighty first post here about how you are so objective, etc. You're welcome to post here, but where I come from you gotta earn it. ;)

Fair enough- but as you acknowledge I'm new here, and you and Wys unfairly have cast me as a "FF" just because I don't think RJ is the long term solution in Buffalo, and because I don't care about Flutie one way or the other.
No, I don't think he's the great Satan. Yes, I do think he played well for Buffalo. No, I don't mind that he's gone. No, I don't root for him to fail in SD, b/c I don't care about SD.
Just because I don't hate Flutie, you insult me. If you insult me, I'll argue back.

Judge, i don't think i have ever labeled you as a Flutie Flake. If you can point it out to me, I'll apologize. It's cool having you here, but you have to understand the crap that Wy's had to put up with before you got here...just because he supported the team.
Wy's is a big guy who doesn't need my help, but it seems the attacks, calling him names, and saying he's lost it, are unjustified since you and others that haven't been around as long weren't here to witness all the crap that some FF's did to him.
Heck, I had this wacko FF from montreal get my phone number, threaten to kill my parents, called me a gay fag*ot RJ lover, tried to bribe me to get other "RJ Lovers'" phone numbers, etc., and generally harrass me until i had to call the montreal police. That kind of Flutie Flake may be rare, but a lot of them seem to be punks...just an observation.
I would never compare you to that wacko, but my point is that you weren't here to see the threats and general HATE for anyone that spoke against the beloved midget.
So now when Flutie does poorly, HECK YEAH we have a right celebrate! Besides, why is rooting against Doug Flutie any Different than rooting against Dan Marino or Jimmy Johnson? They are not Bills.
Enough Rambling....

Like I give a crap!!
Judge just predicted a Bolts playoff appearance and a solid finish by Flutie. That's laughable!
Judge, have you actually seen Flutie play other than vs. the Bills??
If you had, you wouldn't be making those predictions. But UNTIL you are correct, AND I am wrong, how about a little respect as LOG pointed out!!
We, and I mean PLENTY of people here on these boards had to listen to all about how Rob sucks and how we should have kept Flutie, and how Flutie was gonna light things up in S.D. and blah, blah, blah, Flutie this and Flutie that...
THIS JUST IN.... Flutie is having one of the WORST years of ANY QB in the NFL. Just b/c YOU, or anyone else who loves the guy says so, DOES NOT mean that isn't true!
I've been dead nuts on regarding Flutie and EXACTLY how he would play this year out there w/o a #1 D to bail his butt out 2/3 of his games. So far HIS OWN PERFORMANCES have proven me correct!
So how about AT LEAST waiting until I am wrong before you start telling me/us all about what's GONNA happen, ESPECIALLY since EVERY FF that I know could not have been more off so far!!
He sucks, he'll continue to suck, and if the Chargers DO win more games, w/ the exception of the Arizona game coming up b/c their a crappy team and Flutie can play well vs. crappy teams, it'll be because of the D and STs again just as it has been ALL YEAR w/ the exception of the Dallas game!
So far there's absolutely NO evidence that what you are predicting is going to occur. Just wait until Flutie goes to Philly in 3 weeks! That's gonna be a laugher!

Maybe, just maybe, at the end of this season, when EVERYONE knows and realizes that Flutie sucks, we won't have to listen about Flutie anymore! Just maybe!!

I made that prediction to tick you off- it's a smackdown board, right? Looks like it worked!
I haven't seen many Flutie games, b/c I go to the Bills games at home and watch the Bills on road games. When I go to Bills home games I don't have much of an opportunity to watch other NFL games.

I finally figured that out (see my post above). But like you said, I'm new here. It wasn't my fault. But now that the mystery has been solved, I won't need to try to get it out of him.
I would like to say this though: He's been attributing things to me that I never said just because he's lumped me in with all those other Flutie Flakes. It's like he's having this running argument with me and I missed 3/4 of it. I have no idea what he is talking about.
BTW. My love for Flutie is not blind. Belive me.

Also, the drop in postings about Flutie pretty much coincided with the end of the Chargers/Bills's game when Flutie was actually relevant....now, they're just ravings.

No it isn't. Rob played well in '98 and '99 despite a ~.500 record.
Most of his bad games were last year and most of the competition that he faced was very stiff. Plus, he didn't have a great D to work w/ him. A good chunk of the reason for losses was poor D.
I just would like to see Rob play most of a season w/ something other than a patchwork O such as we have this year w/ new everything, before we show him the door.
I FULLY realize as I've said dozens if not a hundred times before, that there may very well be injury issues, and even I am suspect as to why he doesn't throw the ball away more quickly and certainly as to why he seems to enjoy running headlong into ProBowl caliber LBs who seem to enjoy killing him! That's a real headscratcher!
But, we also need a replacement. Until we have one, you can argue any way you want, but Rob's at least an average QB on a crappy team making him look worse than he is. He may not be the perrenial probowler that I had envisioned, but I think he still can be. Much of that is up to him however, and between that and leadership which needs to be FAR more consistent from game to game, I fully realize the issues attached to him.
I was really hoping that we would have drafted Mike McMahon from Rutgers that Detroit took. But we didn't. So...
