"Football is not a contact sport. It's a collision sport. Dancing is a contact sport."
-Vince Lombardi

In all seriousness, Darius deserved the flag and maybe even the ejection. But it was NOT intentional.

(and my opinion has nothing to do with the fact the Donovan went to Syracuse).

Donovan isn't a cheap player at all.

He was just going for a huge hit.

Please guys. That was the dirtiest hit I have EVER seen in a football game. It was so dirty that Jack Tatum and Chuck Cecil were outraged ;) darius should be suspended for a while and at least the rest of this season.

It was dirty. A hard hit is one thing, but he had his arm out with intent to injure. This is a bull**** conversation. How anyone can say his arm like that was an accident.

It sure looked like an old-fashioned clothesline to me.

And I am old enough to remember watching TV and seeing Dick Butkus and Mike Curtis and Ray Nietzsche (sp?) clothesline with intent.

you have got to be kidding me. How long have you watched football? this was common practice not too long ago(well to me anyway) I have seen much worse. But it was a a sweat hit!

I have been following football since I could barely walk in the early 80s, it was after they rightfully outlawed hits like that. That was a disgraceful play on the part of Darius and the fine was not severe enough, if they weren't going to suspend him they at least needed to fine him where it would put a dent into him. $75k is a joke to a guy like him.

You wrot "seat hit" but i assume you mean "sweet hit", yeah it was great when he couldn't move his legs. Great job by Darius- he should be very proud

I'm sure he didn't want to hurt the guy but you don't just clothesline someone by accident.

If that was Lee Evans who got hit like that I'd bet a million dollars you'd be saying the exact opposite. Wake up. That was dirty.

If it was an accident, he would have squared up on him.
He stuck out his arm to clothesline and attempt to harm.
Not an accident.
