Hector and Victor on ESPN.com have this to say about the two:

Thomas Jones:

"Should turn in good combined numbers, but always touch and go

Evaluation: Though Houston's front seven lacks depth and is young at key spots, Jones isn't automatic in this matchup. The Texans contained Edgerrin James with seven-man fronts last week, and against Chicago they can load the box. Also, RB Anthony Thomas remains a threat to Jones' numbers."

And for Onterrio Smith:

"Crowded house: Smith doesn't get enough carries

Evaluation: Smith's shiftiness and yards after contact haven't been as evident lately as they were early in the season, and this week he faces a Detroit defense whose tackles can shut down the interior. Speedy RB Michael Bennett's might get more reps if Minnesota attacks the perimeter."

So would you like 200 pounds of concrete or 200 pounds of brick dropped on your foot? They did predict that Thomas Jones would put up more points because he has a much better chance of scoring a TD.
