Not really very surprising...who would you have voted for?
Personally, I think the most outstanding player in college football this year was his teammate Reggie Bush.

i thought Lienart should have won it last year. Bush will get his, he just didnt get the ball enought this year.

Bush will need someone to get him the ball, though.
What's the deal on USC's QB for next year?

i don't know, they have turned into a freaking factory again though. There is still a remote chance Lienart stays. I think he will be a very good NFL qb he makes good decisions

From September 4.
I nailed the winner (not really all that hard), but my other top 3 didn't make the cut.

Yeah, lot of love for Leinart in that thread. :)
I remember reading somewhere that Norm Chow has damn near a whole playbook just for Reggie...he can do it all.

My vote was for Alex Smith.

This is stupid, almost as dumb as Eric Crouch winning it. Peterson should have won by a long shot.

ya how dare they give it to a guy who last year got his team a national championship last year, and then went undefeated with an entirely new team this year. he only threw 28 tds and 6 int's this year and 38/9 last yearwith a 154 passer rating this year. he shouldn't have even been invited to the ceremony.
His team has one 21 games in a row and he is 24-1 as a starter
He will also be a top 3 pick in the draft if not number one...yep i can see the Crouch comparison

It wasn't terrible or anything. Peterson, Bush, Smith, and Leinart all had good cases.
So did White, but Jason ****in' White ain't gonna be only the second guy to win two Heismans. :puh:

Looks like Leinart will stay for his senior season since Stanford hired Walt Harris and Norm Chow is staying. If he goes pro then it will be:
1. John David Booty
2. Rocky Hinds
3. Mark Sanchez

No reason to be pissed. Peterson is a frosh, which means he'll be there next year. Leinart deserved it.

my thoughts exactly. the only reason i paid attention was that Archie's achievment was nearly devalued.
Now i hope Leinart enters the draft, and someone else beats out Peterson next year...like Teddy Gynn or Troy Smith.
