I heard there was an outpouring of support for him from alumni and boosters over the past couple of weeks, after the BC win.

I'm not happy about it. But the "coach" side of me is happy for him. It's tough seeing guys lose their jobs, especially when they go to a bowl game. But I thought a change was needed. I still stand by my earlier story that he was asked to resign. Things changed a lot since then. I'm sure SU saw all the heat other schools were taking for firing coaches right now after winning seasons and that played a part in it, too.

One of the big reasons I heard to him staying is his athletes high graduation rate. That's most important IMO.

Recruiting has been good too. Two big NFL studs that have gone through him are Dwight Freeney and Donovan McNabb.

Didn't Marvin Harrison come from the 'Cuse as well?

That isn't to bad, but only 3 big names isn't huge.

Roland Williams
Rob Konrad
Donovan Darius
Keith Bulluck
Morlon Greenwood
Olindo Mare
James Mungro
Kevin Johnson
Quentin Harris
Will Allen
Tebucky Jones

...and a couple more I can't recall.
