The University of Florida has offered its coaching job to Urban Meyer, who accepted today, ESPN.com has confirmed. :10:

This is fantastic news in light of Bob Stoops re-upping with Oklahoma and Butch Davis pulling his name out of consideration. I was certain we were out of the running when the Notre Dame job became available, which would've left us with an even shorter list of head coaches to choose from.

I hope it works out for the Gators. But I am happy about it, because I want to see Butch Davis at Notre Dame, and I thought that Urban Meyer was going to get the Irish job.
