Now that Ty is out at ND, here's some things I've heard "in the circle"...........

Supposedly, Bobby Stoops was in Gainesville this past weekend - which would lend credence to my previous rumor about the "conspiracy." Check out the thread. Also, he could be looking at 3.5 million/year if he is the Gators choice. Wow!.........

Obviously, Urban Meyer looks like the target at ND. Early rumor is Willingham will head to the University of Washington and Utah will promote from within..........

Illinois: Could be Mike Leach (Texas Tech), or Ron Zook, or Jim Leavitt (South Florida). Texas Tech would then promote from within.

Other early rumors: Butch Davis to Florida if not Stoops....... Davis to East Carolina if Stoops goes to Florida......Nick Saban to the Cleveland Browns.......LSU promotes from within.

Still nothing official at Syracuse about Pasqualoni, but I fully expect him to be gone. No word on a possible replacement, yet.

Of course, all of this is early and there will be more jobs available which will have more domino effects. But this is just the early stuff I heard.

Some wanted Willingham to lead the Bills. I see him taking the leap to the pros. Perhaps under Denny Green in Phoenix??

Here's what I think ...

Willingham -> Washington
Stoops -> Florida
Meyer -> Notre Dame
Butch Davis -> Oklahoma

And if Saban goes to Cleveland ...

Zook -> LSU

Rest will hire from within ...

Norm Chow of USC should get a job if he wants one. How he is not a head coach somewhere already baffles me

Here's the latest I've heard. Again, these things change quickly (look at Florida/ND). But these "rumors" are from pretty good sources.....

Clemson's Brad Scott (OC) to Florida State as new Offensive Coordinator........

A deal is close to being done with Ron Zook at Illinois......

Indiana is looking at Hoeppner or John Cooper (former Ohio State head coach)......

Nick Saban appears to be headed to either the Miami Dolphins or Cleveland Browns.....

Interesting names being thrown around at Ole Miss and Stanford:

Ole Miss: Bobby Petrino (HC - Louisville); Fischer (OC - LSU); and Orgeron (DL coach for USC) are at the top of the list. Zook has been contacted here, too.

Stanford: Norm Chow (OC at USC); and Walt Harris (HC at Pitt).

Just what I hear.....

Bobby Petrino isnt going anywhere. With Louisville going to the Big East, they will easily be the favorite for next years BCS bid.

who's that?

who's that?

His name is Brian Brohm. He was the #1 QB recruit in the country coming out of high school.

I think both you guys are right in the fact that Petrino shouldn't leave - for all the reasons you stated - PLUS the fact of how Ole Miss (if that's who offers him) treated Cutcliffe. Most coaches would look at that and say no way.

However, because of the Cutcliffe situation, Ole Miss will most likely have to overpay for their next head coach and maybe even give a lot of guaranteed money. So, as nice of a situation as Petrino has going in Louisville, that could be hard to pass up.

By the way, I really thought he was a great fit for the Florida job. He recruits the hell out of this state. And to do that from a school in Kentucky......wow.....imagine the kind of players he would be able to get to come to Gainesville. But that's over now.
