View Full Version : Do you have a life?

November 14th, 2001, 4:55:14 PM
I was just noticing how none of us seem to have a life. I have a job, but i like typing about the Bills in between busy times! What do the rest of you do? Work nights? No job? Self-Employed? Paid to surf? lol...

Just curious. :D

for almost 2 months now. I also teach P.E. part time. Before, I was in the dot-com/media world on the sales end. My wife went back to work when I stopped in Sept., so I could get 1 year of my life with the kids.

Paid to surf.

Besides when you have a fat pipe it real easy to just hop on and off the board, scanning, and reading selectively. You almost do not lose anytime.

I also am responsible for the firewall and logging facilities. Otherwise I would not recommend surfing at work. One of my many responsibilities is monitoring and reporting misuse of company bandwidth. ;)

Most of you would probably think that is unethical. However this is my only indulgence while at work, my boss knows it, and no one questions how I use my time.

but I am a sports addict. It's so bad, I even follow curling.

I'm Rude American's AA sponsor!

BTW, anyone seen Rude lately! We were havin' a coke at the local watering hole and I had to come home to check up on my kid. I haven't heard from him since!

Banana,

What kind of biz you got? You know what mine is.

You aren't producing and selling Flutie jerseys, are you?

Other than my wing sauce distribution, I have no life!

:D

Believe it or not, I'm a preacher. I post here and on a religious website (www.beliefnet.com). I can actually get to a game about once every five years.

I have an energy consulting business. I buy/sell/administer energy for corporations and work on alternative energy projects. I was an accountant/banker but hated it. I am as I said addicted to playing or watching or anything that has to do with sports or wing sauce :D .

I do web marketing for a non-profit. I'm on the web all day at work. A few visits to BBI can't hurt.

Banana,

We ought to get together sometime. If you have financial/acctg. experience, I have the operational, we could start a Buffalo Wing franchise! I'm half kidding, half serious. Always on the lookout for opps.

If you like wings so much, why haven't you ordered any sauce? You aren't going to win any w/ your lame predictions! LOL :D

Seriously! Try some! Or can't you bring yourself to order any b/c it's me selling it! :D LOL

You'll cave! :winkani:

I just bottled my "Wy's Guy" and it's pretty hot. It's a good anasthesia for the season. Poor a little in the eyes and stick some up the old nose... Man, you sure forget about the Bills for a while!

Hey Blue,
Two points. Wys sauce--it gives courage to shy men to do what needs to be done.

Second. I've got a geothermal heating/air in my house and it's awesome. Any interest?

USAF Intelligence. I take a break for 10-minutes every hour or so and hit the site. Can't do it from home, since I disconnected my computer from the net to avoid things distracting me from my writing. :)

So when I'm not trying to figure out where bin Laden and his buddies are (one down, 3 to go), I'm here reading about the Tali-Bills. :)

We all know YOU don't have a life Stealth ;)

Depends how you define "life," I suppose.

My life consists of:

1. Family. Wife and 4 kids.

2. Writing. Currently on Chapter 11 of my second novel.

3. Air Force. 17 years down, 3 to go for retirement.

4. The Bills.

So my life is easily reduced to quarters. Just like a football game. :D

Geothermal as in a ground based heating/cooling system or something more elaborate?

Now That I've Taken My Life
Words and Music by Tom Paxton

Now that I've taken my life, hiding the damp remains,
Scouring the stubborn stains erasing them carefully.
Breaking the dreams of a life and interring them prayerfully
My telephone never stops ringing,
Now that I've taken my life.

It was a foolish life I know, ivory towered and quite out of touch.
It was a life that had to go, I guess I won't miss it much.
For the solid gold women are standing in line,
And dangling a solid gold key.
The very best hostesses pour me my wine,
Introducing their daughters to me.

Now that I've taken my life, pleading reality,
Mumbling morality, and losing the child I was.
Smiling my youth to the wall and recalling how wild I was.
I'm a very popular man,
Now that I've taken my life

It was a foolish life I know, ivory towered and quite out of touch.
It was a life that had to go, I guess I won't miss it much.
For the solid gold women are standing in line,
And dangling a solid gold key.
The very best hostesses pour me my wine,
Introducing their daughters to me.

Now that I've taken my life, remembering the April air,
My hands in a curs'ry prayer my eyes on the crowd outside.
The music is merry, the laughter is comfortably loud outside.
And the laughter I'm hearing is mine,
Now that I've taken my life

It was a foolish life I know, ivory towered and quite out of touch.
It was a life that had to go, I guess I won't miss it much.
For the solid gold women are standing in line,
And dangling a solid gold key.
The very best hostesses pour me my wine,
Introducing their daughters to me.

i have binges here on the board. i will post for a while, and then fast. my fasts usually come when i am having a life and hanging out with friends. sometimes i get a quiet night at the house, so i go straight to the boards here and post away. its a great way to spend extra time. but yes, i like to think that i do have a life.

Back then I probably had over 500 posts. Through some sort of miracle, over the next two years - I am now up to about 425 posts.

Believe it or not,I do have a life. :) Usually go out after work, assuming we dont get out at 6. Wednesdays and Thursdays are my days off,so Im usually running around shopping, paying bills or whatever. Sundays (my other day off) are football and Nascar. If I get on here, its usually at night after I come home from whatever Im doing. Sometimes I lurk during the afternoon, like on Fridays (early days),but thats not often. When I do get on,I usually check my mail, come to the boards, and if I have something else to do online,I do it.
