I know 95% of the people want to get rid of it and so do I. I figured out the best scenario possible for them to get rid of it finally....It takes a lot of things to happen but it could happen
First we need all the top 3 teams to stay undefeated creating a controversy.....We need Utah(tho deserving to stay in the top 6). We then would want Cal to lose this week to allow Boise State to make it in the top 6. Then we would want Pittsburgh to lose to South Florida making a 6-5 Syracuse team the BCS rep from the Big East.
The rules for the BCS are as follows any team in the top 6 of the BCS standings NOT from a major conference gets and automatic bid....So that would be both Utah at #5 and Boise State at # 6......Any major conference team that doesn't win their conference has to be in the top 4 .....Texas would be at # 4 so they would be guaranteed a spot...
The top 6 would look like this
USC
OU
Auburn
Texas
Utah
Boise State
So you have 8 spots for BCS bowl teams
Big 12 champ- Oklahoma
Sec Champ- Auburn
ACC- Virginia Tech
Pac 10- USC
Big East- Syracuse
Big Ten- Michigan
At large- Utah
At large - Boise State
under the rules tho Texas is guaranteed a BCS bid so what would happen and would the bowl matchups be horrible
USC vs Oklahoma in the orange
Virginia Tech vs Syracuse in the Sugar
Michigan vs Boise State in the Rose
Utah and Auburn in the Fiesta
That would definetely put a notch in the BCS
