My freshman year of college, Lou started coaching the Gamecocks, and he is leaving!!!! I shed a tear, when I read the article on ESPN just now ... http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=1925598 ... it's an end to a great thing, Lou revitalized our program. We went 0-11 his first season, but still sold out every game. Next two seasons, we beat Ohio St. in the Outback Bowl. Now he is retiring :(
Yeah, I am happy Spurrier is coming in, but Lou is awesome, I met him 6 or 7 times (I was a peer tutor and worked with some players at times), and he was always so nice!!!!! But it's time for the Gamecocks to go to the next level with Spurrier, but we will never forget who started us on this path!!!! I just spent $475 on two tickets to the Clemson game, to see Lou's last game as coach!!!!
