PS2 - 'Disc Read Error'

Anybody know how easy/hard it is to fix this? Is this a common problem with ps2's?

Once fixed, will it continue to come back?

1. Make sure your disc is clean.
2. Clean the laser lens with alcohol and a soft cloth.

Those two steps should get you by unless you have mechanical damage. It is a common problem.. especially with the older models. :niterider

Mine had it. I fixed it. It worked again for like an hour. Broke again.

Then I threw it on the floor and bought an X-Box

The infamous disc-read error.

PS2 sucks.

I opened up my PS2 and cleaned the laser eye and got better results before pulling a RockStar and buying an Xbox.
