My kid just said 15 lower tier guys (rico, Billy Gunn, Mordechai etc) and the writer that came up with the Kane/Lita's baby idea have been fired.

plus he says they're thinking of recombining the brand.

I'd say go for it.

I always watch RAW, never watch Smackdown.

There have been a bunch of firings recently. The confirmed list (so far): Rico, Jazz, Rodney Mack, Billy Gunn, A-Train, Gail Kim, Johnny Stamboli, Chuck Palumbo, Nidia, and Test. The writer has been replaced.

Test has been recovering form neck surgey, but did not get along with HHH.

Dumping he brand extension would be nice, but the young guys would never get a chance if egos like HHH, UT and Angle had to be stroked on onr group.

IMO, the worst fring was Rico. Entertaining character with good in-ring ability.

Apparently the writer is claiming he got fired because he wasn't a kiss ass and would go over Steph's head to Vince and as long as Steph's creative head, it will be all HHH all the time.

And poor Billy and Chuck.

I thought it was a great concept that they chickened out on.

Maybe they thought it was just too icky.

Rico's music was great too:

"You look...... so great to me!"

I thought it was "you look so....good to me",which was recycled from Billy & Chuck.

Bottom line on the firings: most,if not all,of them were of talent that WWE feels that they can do without and they can pull talent from Ohio Valley Wrestling-they were, one and all, talent that either a.had a push to some extent, but hadn't been used in some time(A-Train,for example),or b. never got over in the first place. Billy Gunn,IIRC,had been making a stink about how he was used and pulled off the road a few weeks ago. Jazz had been injury prone, spending at least a stint and probably more rehabbing injuries.

As far as the writer goes, the one who got booted was Smackdown's Dan Madigan(as noted by the PWTorch.com). He was the guy who came up with the movie idea for Kane(which he's now filming),where Chris Benoit would "defend our honor" by feuding with Kenzo Suzuki(and you have to love THAT idea-a Canadian-born wrestler defending the U.S.' honor....),and who could ever forget Mordechai? (Besides everyone. :) ) The ideas may have sucked, but bottom line is both Vince & Steph OKed them,so part of the blame should fall on them for making a bad judgement. Word is Madigan was concentrating more on the mid-carders than the main eventers when it came to story ideas. And to update Mehs on the writer's replacement: it's not official,yet....but someone will more than likely go into the SD! roster filling Madigan's place.

The Brand Extension must end.

These story lines have been boring and predictable. Reuniting the brands will improve things for SD, that show just sucks.

But here's the problem: The shows could very well become all Triple H,Undertaker,Angle et al all the time. And then what does that mean to the rest of the talent....getting the leftover crumbs after the top guys chow down?

Thats the WWE. But what is going on now isn't working, so we'd all like to see a new direction I think.
