My kid says they're gonna introduce a new Iraqi heel tonite that they've been testing in non broadcast shows.
Anybody know anything?

They have been testing a guy, but I don't know when he is debuting. I guess he is getting over as a heel very well. He does the whole praying on the rug deal and really takes the gimmick pretty far out.

The Arab-American heel debuted tonight in an interview vignette.

He's no Sgt. Slaughter.

He's no Iron Sheik either.

As far as this new character goes: It runs the same risk as they took earlier this year with Eugene(portraying him the way they did)-this has the potential to really blow up in WWE's face if it's not done correctly. In all honesty,WWE shouldn't even be heading down this road-there's no way they can even portray this in any way that won't offend Americans and their worldwide audience. It's bad judgement.

this is a terrible storyline. I read that the guy is Italian, he's not even really Arab-American. I just think its in terrible taste for both sides.

Nice try. Shawn's got a website(http://www.shawndaivari.com/)....and his bio mentions he was born in Teheran,Iran. Go to the news section and near the tail end he makes note of the whole controversy over the angle(which I agree isn't in the best taste).

Anyone else SHOCKED that Foley got involved in this angle. I mean the guy can pick from just about any angle to get involved in and he chooses this one!?!

I thought last night was pretty lame.
The setup was good but the execution was poor (writing and acting).
The ending was like, huh?

Really? I though Foley and Hassan did what they could (And Foley was great, as usual) but the idea was terrible. Exploiting some things should be off limit even for Vince.

If they're just going to make Hassan a stupid heel like the UnAmericans, it won't work.
Lampooning Canadians is one thing, at least you're not bombing our cities.
But lampooning Arabs while you're killing them in their own country seems kind of not funny to me.
I don't know. I kind of got the feeling Foley wasn't entirely comfortable with the concept.
The flag waving bully (fist in your face, boot in your ass) doesn't really suit him.

This angle makes me want to vomit, literally. I felt disgusted as I watched some of it, and ended up having to turn it off.
