CLEVELAND, OH * It was announced on Thursday at the Mid-American Conference Basketball Media Day that the University at Buffalo men's basketball team has been selected to win the MAC East Division by the MAC News Media Association. The Bulls received 29 of the possible 37 first place votes. In addition, with eight votes, UB finished second in the voting to win the MAC Championship game. Toledo received 19 votes to win the title game.
Buffalo was picked ahead of Kent State and Miami (OH). It is the first time since joining the MAC in 1998 that the Bulls have been picked to finish first in the division

Wow, it is great to see a local team picked to do well, espacially UB since they seem to be picked last all the time. I just hope the Bulls don't get peoples hopes up and have a let down.

MAC media day and when this pick was made was over a month ago. Where have you been? :D
Since then, UB opened with a 22 point loss at UConn (which really isn't all that bad), then had to have a huge comeback to beat Farleigh Dickinson in OT (a team that is better than people think), and finally had a cruise against Indiana State. UB should be fine. I'd really like to see them get into the tourney. They'd most likely have to win the MAC tourney, though, because that conference doesn't usually get any at-large bids for the NCAA tourney.
Anyway, Syracuse now #4 in the AP and #5 in the coaches!
Go Orange(MEN)!!!

Well it's not looking so good to win the MAC East this year. The entire MAC is super close, but UB just can't seem to pull away losing must wins like their game home VS. Ohio. We'll see how they do a week from today on ESPN 2 VS. Ball St.

Nothing really matters until the MAC tourney starts. The only MAC team that is going to make the NCAA tourney is the one who wins the MAC tourney. There will be no at large bids for the MAC this year. What the Bulls really need to do is get tougher on D, and get Yassin Idbihi's head on straight. When he plays right he is almost unstopable, but when he plays badly he might as well be 5'2" because he is useless!

Yea he was useless last night with like 5 points where UB blew a 17 point second half lead to lose @Miami OH the best team in the MAC. That would have been a huge road win for the Bulls. OH well...

Hey UB has a nice spot in the MAC and is in greta position for move up even more, with very winnable games left including a huge season finale against Akron. UB had a great braketbuster Saturday yesterday beating Fresno St. Great win there against a strong Bulldog team
