.....is tonight, the beginning of the college basketball season. I will be there to see the perennially choking Gators take the court for the first time. A new defensive mentality has hopes high here in Gator country, but I'll wait until I see it for myself.
Who is everyone's pre-season favorites? I believe the national champion this year will come out of the state of North Carolina (UNC or Wake).

It's great to see college hoops back, especially considering what us Bills fans are suffering through and no hockey to look forward to.
Williams is loaded at NC this year. Wake's good, too. Also look out for Michigan State.
Don't discount Syracuse, either. WE (yes, I'm an OrangeMAN) have all five starters returning, including All-American and possible Player-of-the-Year Hakim Warrick. G-Mac will run the show again, and Billy Edelin may be eligible after Christmas, coming back from his personal hiatus. All these guys, along with returner Josh Pace were key parts to the National Championship run two years ago. Anything less than the Elite Eight will be a disappointment for me. And I think Final Four and beyond is again a real possibility.

Watch out for NC State. Its not often that the ACC player of the year comes back for another year. Of course I am rather partial.

Well, never count out Duke. They just keep reloading every year. I think Syracuse could have a heck of a year too.
On the local side, there is big things expected from UB this year. I hope they can live up to the hype.
