Jay Leno will continue to be at the helm of "The Tonight Show" for another five years, well into 2009, after which time Conan O'Brien will become the host of "The Tonight Show." Jay will officially make the announcement on his show tonight.

After that, it's back to work as usual for Jay, Conan and their teams, who will continue to provide us laughs for many more years.

I hope thats true. Conan will wipe out the 11:30 competition. Lets hope he stays in New York.

Lets hope he stays in New York.
Let's hope that'll be one of the many things that remains the same. Though, I do admit, there will be some adjustments that are going to be needed.

That's cool. I like Conan and I like Jay. So who will take over for Conan....and PLEASE don't say Carson Daly.

I like Conan too,but can't stand Jay. (I go with Letterman or Al Franken on Sundance Channel for late night stuff.) And,neither could Bill Hicks. He absolutely ripped into Leno in a comedy bit,envisioning Jay biting the bullet(literally and figuratively)on TV.

I've already read that Conan will probably move to Burbank for the Tonight Show, and that he might change some of his stuff around because right now he appeals to a "younger crowd".

Ah great, the dynasty will continue. Jay isn't as funny as he used to be, and it will be welcome relief once he is replaced by Conan. Still I'll take Jay over Letterman any night of the week.
