Another 80's star passes away prematurely. Here is a nice article about the situation:

The wrestling business was dealt another shocking blow
this week, when "Big Bossman" Ray Traylor passed away
on Wednesday night, at the young age of 42. As
wrestling fans, it's become almost commonplace to hear
about yet another former wrestling star dying at a
young age. It happens at a far higher rate than any
other sport, an alarming, staggering rate. But to be
honest, I was genuinely shocked, and saddened to hear
about the death of Ray Traylor. He was just not one
of the names you expect to hear. There are certain
names out there that one would expect to hear before
others, and I won't mention any names out of respect
to them, but everyone knows who they are. Ray Traylor
was only 42 years old, and he was damn sure not one of
them for me. His death makes me very sad as a
wrestling fan, and as a person.

The question we ask now, as we have too many times in
the past is why. Why does a 42-year-old man drop dead
of a massive heart attack living a relatively normal
life with his family in Georgia? It wouldn't make any
sense to any normal, rational human being. Any
rational human being would look at all the recent
deaths of former pro wrestlers, and say something is
terribly wrong. You don't need a Harvard degree to
tell you that. But as wrestling fans, we are almost
calloused to the point that it seems like just another
name on a growing list of names that have left us over
the years. Names like Curt Hennig, Mike Hegstrand,
Rick Rude, Davey Boy Smith, Brian Pillman, and the
list goes on, and on.

One thing left out, is that Bossman had a very nice run in Japan, tagging with Steve "Dr. Death" Williams, who is undergoing cancer treatment currently.

RIP (and thanks for the memories) Big Bossman.

This trend has to scare all those involved with the business from that era and beyond. Bossman was a favorite of mine growing up, this really sucks.

That's awful. It's weird. I met him once. Ironically he was with Curt Henning who passed away too. They came into town for a golf tournament. Who would have thought they'd die so young?

Never mind "pretty bad",WE...it's incurable. According to his doctors,John Tenta(better known as Earthquake)has at most 18 months to live. The docs recently found a new tumor in his lung and a couple of enlarged lymph nodes in his heart. He's gearing up for a number of chemo sessions...the first of them 4 days long.

Godspeed,friend...
