Basically, he feels the NHL ownership has capitulated too long, and Goodenow is too isolated and arrogant to reach any agreement. He has bullied the NHL ownership too long to even consider negotiating any kind of reasonable agreement that acknowledges the economic realities of the sport. Fischler predicts that the NHL will lose this season, but hire replacements and welcome back any players who wish to break ranks with Goodenow and the NHLPA, leading to the end of Goodenow's reign of terror...
