Question about Lockout

If Ryan Miller is not signed by Wednesday when the lockout starts, does that mean the Sabres can not sign him till after a new CBA is signed, meaning he would not be able to play for the Amerks this upcoming season?

NHL teams can't sign players during the lockout. They do, however retain their rights through the lockout. AHL teams could sign him. Since his rights are with the Sabres, the Amerks could sign him to a minor league deal.

Thanks SJ, I heard Howard Simon say yesterday that Miller could sign with the Amerks.
