In a defensive showdown versus Adams State in Colorado the Mules defense forced its first shutout in three years. A good start to a hopefully great season. The Mules are now 1-0

In another strong defensive outing the Mules added some offense to the mix as we crushed the Tigers of Lincoln University at their place in Jeff City in a dominating 47-0 route. For anyone interested we are ranked #7 in the D2 nation and have outscored our first two opponents 60-0. Next up is a showdown with archrival Northwest Missouri in our first home game of the Season "GOOOOO MULES!!!!!"

In a game with rampant aid by the refs-damn I hate when zebras interfere with an important game- Northwest rolled to a seemingly large 38-20 win over my beloved Mules. However we were in it only trailing by 11 until the last two minutes of the game when they faked a field goal when an honorable team would have just knelt and let the time run out.

In the second straight game Mules fans everywhere were asking the same question, where is the defense. In an offensive display that reminded me of the no huddle attack of the early 1990's CMSU won 40-33. We are now 3-1. Up next is Southwest Baptist.

For the first time in three weeks the Mules, riddled by injury, played a complete game as we dominated visiting Southwest Baptist 48-21. To improve to 2-1 in the MIAA and 4-1 overall.

When it looked like the Mules might actually get on a role the Mules once again failed to be consistent. The offense came up in a big way scoring 44 points. The problem was that the defense allowed 49 points. Wake up Mules, and start kicking some ass. Same goes for the Wildcats and Bills.

WTF is up with our defense. We just lost to Rolla 42-38. That team lost 58 straight MIAA games, we have a 200 yard rusher and we can't even beat UMR. Good lord this is disgraceful. KSU loses, Buffalo Loses, and CMSU loses. What a crappy weekend.

Yeehaw, we finally returned to our ass kicking ways.

CMSU dominated the Icabods of Washburn (ks.) 47-21 and improved to 6-3. Though the bods scored 21 points 14 of those came in the final quarter. This week CMSU travels to Pitt (ks) to take on the undefeated Gorillas who are averaging over 60 points per game.

Well we lost to Pit no suprise there but we at least kept it close and if it wasn't for a couple of big plays we let them have we might have won. That being said we lost 27-42 and fell to 6-4. The final game of the year is on saturday vs. Emporia so maybe we can go out on a winning note and build up steam for next year.

In a thrilling season finale the Mules overcame a 13 point half time deficit to win against the Hornets of Emporia State 35-33. They finish with a record of 7-4 and only lost out on the Mineral Water Bowl as Washburn won their finale. To any NFL scouts out there please keep Lee Thompson and Keegan Coleman in mind as they are two very talented RB's who have thrilled the MIAA for the past few years.
