In an effort to generate some interest, I thought I'd start a new thread. I am curious to hear everybody's responses to these questions.

1. Who is your favorite baseball team and for how long?
2. Who is your favorite baseball player and for how long?

Here's mine:

1. Chicago Cubs - 19 Years
2. Nomar Garciaparra - Since 1997

1. I think most people that read the baseball board know my favorite team is the Jays.

2. Well, I don't have a favorite player as of a few weeks ago, because John Olerud is now a member of the New York Yankees. I liked him in Toronto, and followed him in Seattle, but now that he is a Yankee, it is over. But Ichiro Suzuki is the most fun player to watch. It is nice to see some small ball and some stolen bases.

1. My favorite team would have to be the Brewers. I know you guys are going to laugh but I remember when I was little they had a decent team in the late 80s and early 90s and that is when I was somewhat interested in baseball until I got much older.

2. Favorite player, Richie Sexson. He was drafted in 1993 by the Cleveland Indians and he came to the Buffalo Bisons in 94'-95'. He was totally developed in AAA Buffalo and he eventually went on to become a regular starter after a half year up with the Indians. Nowadays he is a major long-ball threat but he is kind of injury-prone so that sucks.

Yankees since I was pretty young. I would sit with my old man, watching Yankee games as long as I can remember. I actually remeber watching the famous "Pine Tar" game against the Royals.

No favorite player though.

Assenmacher was awesome. I still remember when good ole Paul used to throw for the Cubs.

And too bad Steve Olin's career was cut short by his death in that boating accident.

My favorite Team has always been Boston
Since I started getting more into baseball, I now have a second favorite team: Houston

My favorite player WAS Roger Clemens. Then he left Boston for my 2 least favorite teams so I hated him. Then he went to Houston so I kinda like him again. But my favorite player for the last 5 or so years has been Jeff Bagwell.
