I drove through Port Charlotte yesterday after Hurricane Charley had ripped through our county. Boomers, the bar/restaurant that is home to the local Buffalo Bills Backers Club, has suffered extensive damage.
The building is still standing, unlike many others near it, but it will be some time before things are operational again.
In case people don't know, this area (Southwest Florida) is home to many, many former Western New Yorkers - myself included. Boomers was a place for many of them to watch our beloved home-town team. Many of them may not even have a home anymore. Please pray for all of their safety in this time of crises.
