I don't know if this has already been posted, but as I was watching SportsCenter this morning, I noticed a trade come across the Ticker. The trade is that the Bengals receive Deltha O'Neal, the 24th Overall Pick this year, and another pick this year and the Broncos receive the 17th Overall pick. I think the Broncos did this to move ahead of the Cowboys and Patsies and put themselves in line to draft RB Stephen Jackson from Oregon State.

I don't think they are locked into anything at this point.
1. They could use an OLB to replace Ian Gold. Especially since John Mobley may or may not make a full recovery from a neck injury last season. OTOH, the backups (Spragan and Sykes) weren't too bad.
2. They could use some help at WR. McCaffrey (who was basically #3) retired and Cole (who was #4) just signed in free agency with the Raiders.
3. They could go RB. As noted, Hearst and Anderson are getting up there in years. (Anderson was a 27 or 28 year old rookie). Griffin hasn't played that much; he's also small and you've got to wonder if he'd be able to take the beating as an every down back.)
4. They could go TE. Rumor is that Sharpe might well come back, but that this will be his final season.
5. They could go OL. They are okay on the starters, but they have very little depth. It might be a good time to start grooming someone to replace Nalen or Neil - especially since both of them came back from injuries last year. Nalen (C) was awesome. Neil never seemed fully recovered.
6. They could go QB. They are very happy with Plummer. But they have no one to back him up, and this cost them dearly last year.
7. They could go D-Line. Gardener was a bust and Berry, their sack leader, signed with the Cards.
8. Outside chance they could even go for a DB. They are set with Bailey and they like Walls at the other CB spot, but Lynch is a little old at safety. They could use a nickle guy. Especially one who could also act as a return man. (O'Neal was their main punt returner and Cole was their best K/O returner.)
I wouldn't be surprised to see the Broncos do some more trading around. They have the #17, #41 and #54, which gives them some options.

What are you, a Notre Dame Fan. Julius Jones will be lucky if he gets picked in the second round. Only 2 RB's are sure 1st round picks, and those are Stephen Jackson and Kevin Jones. Chris Perry is on the bubble.

The consensus isn't always each teams' view. Ryan Pickett was a thrid-fourth round guy who went in round one before. Last year Calvin Pace went middle first instead of the consesus middle second. Two years ago the Saints "over valued" Charles Grant.
Jones is sort of like Portis, but I think they might target Cedric Cobbs, because he's the North/South type.

You sure didn't.
If they don't go RB in round 1, Michigan's Perry would be a possibility at #41, or N.D.'s Jones at #85.
