I definately see this happening. I think the Giants are going to take Eli Manning with the first overall and then the Chargers will be able to get the top 1-2 WR at 5th.

Not exactly. They said the Chargers are asking for picks and players, which the Giants may deem too steep. So the Giants may hope Gallery falls to them, but they don't say they doubt it will happen.

Didn't the Chargers do this before? Ah yes, they traded away their 1st pick a few years ago. And that pick turned out to be Michael Vick. Don't you think they would learn from previous mistakes?

They knew they were going to draft Vick. Your point?

LaDanion Tomlinson is not a mistake. Too much emphasis is put on the quarterback position. I understand the Vikings were a better team with Vick than the Chargers with Tomlinson. However, That speaks more about the difference in the two teams as opposed to the difference between the two players. Drew Brees could be labled a mistake, but thats because with LT and Boston, that is supposedly giving a QB every chance in the world. When Boston is the only threat on the team, and the O-Line can't pass block, it only proves Brees isn't one of those special QBs who are succesful no matter what. Just looking at Brees' size and arm strength, he is clearly a West Coast style, dink and dunk QB, not a vertical, thow it deep to the big fast guy QB.

Not only that but everybody that has power in the Chargers' personell department and coaching staff, had nothing to do with drafting Ryan Leaf. They had only to learn from that incident what every other team did: put more emphasis on character.

The interesting thing will be that SD might trade down out of the #4 spot also. If Gallery is there at 4 Cleveland might go after him. SD will be loaded with picks. With so many young guys they might just contend for a bowl game.
