I think the only guy who played bad tonight was Jillson and Grier. Total control all game long.

The Jackets did not show up at all. The first period coud have been 4 or 5 nothing if the goalie did not make some good saves. For a while it looked like street hockey when you just have a goalie and everyone is shooting on him.

That's what happens when you play a terrible team, who is travelling gameday, and who's plane didn't touch down in Buffalo till 4:00.
...and when you need every point possible!!!!

What's the difference ? glad you asked the Sabres played focused and stayed determined with intensity. They did not play to the level of their oppenent no matter who they played . that was a huge step for them. Man what a rocket by Max, and Kalinin has been a stud tis last month. Great win but they must keep it up and not think its going to be this easy the rest of the way.:frank: :frank: :frank: :frank:

Jillson had a great game. He was hitting the net and creating chances all night long.
And Grier is always getting into position to screen the Goalie or deflect a puck in.
Do you even know what your watching? Or do you just look at box scores?

I am always glad to see the Sabres win like this. Now all we need is the Islanders to lose the rest of their games and for us to win ours.

I know Bduff is gonna love this but......
Toronto is the most scary team we have left.
The Sabres blew it bad last time we played them, and I am sure the Queefs will remind them of that fact. Especially since the crowd is not gonna be 95% Sabres fans. The way I see it, the Sabres are on the road for the next 3 games. Especially if the Queefs get on em early.
Not over yet though

I agree on both counts. There was even a play that Jim Lorentz pointed out where Grier dropped down, blocked a shot and made a zone clearing pass the other way that turned into the second goal.
Jillson sometimes looks like he is mishandling the puck in the offensive zone, but he usually can recover from it.

Are you nuts? Grier played excellent. He set up one goal by blocking a shot.
He scored one without getting the goal by going to the net and drawing the defender, who knocked it in his own net.
And all the time, he played solid along the boards and a nice physical game.
Jillson played well too. He had like what, a half dozen shots? He joined the rush at opportune times. That one pinch at the blue line was a thing of beauty. And when he does get burned, he has the gumption to get back and fix his mistake. There was some miscommunication between Tallinder and Jillson, but when Tallinder drop passes to Jillson who isn't there, that's Tallinder's fault.

Jillson is terrible. He had a horrible game. He got beat up on the boards but it really didn't matter that much. Tallinder has to play so much better with Jillson out there.
I think you are just watching the offensive rushes - WOW! He got a few shots through - OMG!!!
Grier - slowest guy out there... I am not saying he had a really bad but lately he has played like total <img src='images/smilies/censored.gif'>.

Grier's role is not speed rushes. Are you going to knock Max for getting pushed around when in front of the net?
Grier played very well last night. Jillson is getting beat some, due to his gambling in the offensive zone. But that is his role at the current time. And when he does get beat, he is hustling back on defense to help cover his 'error'.

You are nuts. Grier was extremely valuable last night. His game isn't a speed game. He was directly responsible for two goals last night. He's our best forward along the boards and one of our better bodycheckers, but Mair won last night's competition.
Grier isn't the slowest guy on our team by any stretch. Brown is. And it is noticeable at times.
How badly could Jillson have played defensively? Seriously, Biron needed two No-Doz pills just to stay awake last night. The absolute worst defensive play was Tallinder's behind the back pass to nobody. That's not Jillson's fault, that's Tallinder's fault. McKee got backchecked by Zherdev (I think) before he could clear, which also comes to mind. Jillson didn't play badly defensively at all. He does make errors, but those are aggressive errors, and he usually gets back to reduce the magnitude of those errors. Again, you have to watch his entire game. He was peppering Brathwaite with shots all night. Go back to that pinch. That was an AMAZING play. Fact is, Jillson led the Sabres in shots. Fact is, Jillson led the Sabres in ice time. In a 6-0 rout, that tends to confirm he played very well.

Jillson led us in ice time last night, I believe.

He also led in shots on goal.
Teams have role players...and both those guys played their roles extremely well last game.
