Are there any good QB's out there that we could possible trade a late round pick for or future picks to get One name that comes to mind is Ken Dorsey, doesnt sound like a terrible idea to look into doing

What is it with looking for other team's rejects to QB the team?
Would anyone post a thread such as:
"Any backup WRs (DEs, TEs, OL, etc) that we can trade for cheap instead of drafting a quality prospect high?"

your saying that Brett Favre was or is a reject, if so ill take a 3 time MVP and Super bowl champ as a reject QB any day, Mark Brunell was a so called reject turn out pretty good, aaron Brooks not bad, Jake Delhomme super bowl appearance, Steve young was a back-up never trade but a good "reject", heck Tom Brady would not have played had Bledsoe not been popped so hard he almost possibly died

I think it's pretty safe to say that the Bills are drafting a QB this year instaed of getting young one with some NFL experiance. The only question left is what round were going to draft one in. My bet would be on the first day(rounds 1-3)

What about Tim Couch?
He might be had for a 5th or even a 6th, he might even be cut in June.
His stint in Cleveland wasn't too successful, but Dennis Nothcutt and W Green aren't going to make anyone's life easy.
He was the number one overall pick. Does anyone think he was really THAT awful? I don't know...
But one thing to consider, Couch was drafted along with McNabb, Smith, Culpepper, and McNown...History has shown that out of Manning, Big Ben and Rivers, one- if not two- will be a bust.
I wouldn't mind giving Couch a shot with Henry, Willis, Moulds, Williams and a solid 2nd round TE to work with...next year, of course.

Actually, Steve Young was a #1 pick who had played for HUGE money in the USFL.
Brett Favre was a high #2 pick who the Packers traded a #1 for.
As for the other 3 that you mentioned, how many dozens of guys with similar backgrounds do you think were drafted after the 2nd round over the last 10 years who didn't pan out?
One more time: I am not saying that it is impossible to find a good QB later in the draft or someone else's backup, but I AM saying that it is a low probability play. It is no less possible to find a WR or DT, DE, LB, S, etc later in the draft.

Yeah, some team has a young QB that could be a good starter in the NFL and they will trade him for a 5th or 6th round draft pick.
How about:
Are there any great WRs out there that we could trade a late round pick for or future picks to get one???
Ken Dorsey is the re-incarnation of about 25 never-went-anywhere highly productive college QBs in the last 10 years.
Just for perspective, yes Dorsey was productive in college, but Alex Van Pelt broke Dan Marino's records at Pitt. Does anyone but the deranged think that Van Pelt would have been even an half-decent starting QB in the NFL???

The only current NFL QB I want is Kordell Stewart. I was never a big fan of his but somthing has to be said about his knowledge of the current offense. After that, theres tons of possibilities in the draft.

I would love for the Pack to sign Couch, then if we get lucky JP Lossman will fall to us in round #2

Shane Matthews is available in FA... i think he wouldn't be all that bad for vet minimum...
Career stats: 74.4 rating, 30 td's, 24int's- not good, but not exactly Rick Mirer bad, who is also a FA by the way.

I agree I feel that Kordell would bring a new deminsion to our Bills that has not been felt in the past. He would be a great back up for Bledsoe and would be perfect if he was used as "Slash" once again.

but, ah, HE'S TOO OLD TO BE SLASH AGAIN...he'll only play qb...if we do sign him, which we prob. won't...he'll ONLY play qb, as a back up of course...:uhhuh:

I disagree with you on the statement that Kordell is "too old and unable to be Slash again." Granted yes he may not have the speed he once did he is still a threat. I feel he is currently the best backup available and would be a great addition. Think of the trick plays that could be run with someone the caliber of Kordell.

OK, now you are talking about a veteran BACKUP. Someone who could play one or two games and you still have hope that, if the defense and special teams play well, you might win.
I am not against bringing in someone else's backup to be a backup. I am only arguing that it is very unlikely that you'll find a good starter by trading for someone's backup. Almost any team that has a backup that they consider capabile of becoming a good starter will either not trade them or want a lot in return.
The argument by some here seems to be: "drop our 4th or 5th rounder on a rookie or trade it for someone else's backup and then the future of the QB position beyond Drew Bledsoe is solved". I vehemently disagree with that.

You people need to realize something. For the next four to five years Drew Bledsoe is our future and with that being the fact I feel very confident that he can lead us to the promise land.

IF he takes a paycut. I cannot see the Bills giving THAT kind of money to him.
You do know that in 5 years he will be what, almost 38? He has taken ALOT of hits, ALOT. That is what happens to immobile QB's. Bledsoe has been an immobile qb his entire career.
I do not think he could last 5 years personally. And I REALLY do not think a QB past 30 should be given a 7 MILLION dollar bonus.

Well if we would freaking stop wasting our damn money on our Defense which is already stacked beyond belief we could afford some better Offensive Linemen or dependable SLOT RECIEVER! Mark my words. We get a good slot we are going places and Drew Bledsoe will end his career a Hall of Fame player. An accomplishment that I feel will already be granted after his retirement.
