Plan A
Trade down with Minnesota swapping #13 for #19 and there 3rd rounder. They are desparate for a pass rushing DE and might trade up for Will Smith. With the 19th pick select Philip Rivers.
Second round take Rashaun Woodds WR. Third round picks Ben Utecht TE and Isaac Hilton DE. Fourth round pick Shannon Snell G.
Plan B
Unable to trade down with the #13 pick select DE Will Smith. Second round is the same Woods WR. Third round select Matt Schaub QB. The fourth round is Shannon Snell G.:yankee:

I like the plan to trade down, but I don't like Isaac Hilton or Ben Utecht.
Hilton is the latest version of the "super fast, too undersized to play DE, no experience at LB, from a low level of competition, we hope he is the next great pass rusher" guy. Go back through every year and you can find a guy or too like this. They rarely, if ever, pan out. Heck, Corey Moore (Bills #3 pick a few years ago) was undersized, super fast and ULTRA productive at a major school. He is in nowheresville now.
I don't want to see another undersized TE that can't block to save his life. That is what Utecht is. He isn't particularly fast for a pass-catching-only TE, either.
If the Bills trade down in round 1, I would have to give strong consideration to OG Vernon Carey or even Jake Grove. OL guys who would be good value at those spots. A DT like Randy Starks could also be a consideration.
Just my opinion.

If we trade down with Minnesota, it should be for more than a third round pick. We should at least get a second. I do agree with trading down, though.

NO TRADE --- Take Will Smith... He will be another GREAT pass rusher which is the only thing our D is lacking right now....
Willis will get the offense on track and we can go WR in round 2(unless JP Lossman is avail in rd 2 then take him)....

trade down not a bad idea but I think taking a OL like Carey in round 1 is better then try to get a de in round 2 like the guy from LSU

Rivers wont make it past the Steelers at the 11th pick.

OG Vernon Carey is the target!! kdhammond got it right. Trade down, get Cary ( he will be knocking Dolphins on their butts for the next 10 years!!!). Fix the OL to a bunch of guys who will push the DL back 4 yards on every play. Then go for another good WR and a solid development QB. Hope that Kelsay or Denning or McKensie or somebody else beefs up the Left DE. position. Getting beef in the center of the OL makes Blescoe look better, makes the RB's able to run between the tackles and outside, and keeps time of posession on our side. Best overall improvement. I'm guessing we go down from the #13 pick to the 20th pick (or so) and after the swap of 1st rounders will wind up with a low 2nd or high 3rd round pick. This could be the monster blocking TE from Arkansas.

I think he has a legitimate shot at falling to as low as 20. The Steelers still like Maddox, they drafted someone last year, they don't usually draft QB's high, and they really want to concentrate on getting a revamped defense and run game.
