Since going to the Oilers, he has 10 points in 12 games and has been one of their most consistent players. He would have added more size up the middle, and is pretty good on faceoffs as well. His salary is 4.75 million, but if the Oilers can afford him, how come we can't afford him? Does it have to do with the rising value of the Canadien dollar?

:editor: yup exactly - I've done some research and it is equalily contingent cause on the rise of the Canadien dollar. Good guess starfirestar.

Not with Drury, Briere, and Roy as our top 3 centers.

The Oilers can afford him because the Rangers are picking up the tab for the remainder of this season and he's an UFA after the year.
But, I think that deal was done because Sather and Lowe are buddies.
And Regier is in a dogfight with his previous cohort in crime, so I can see why he didn't get a similiar deal done.
