Caught some of the highlights of the 'Lanche's 9-2 blowout of the Canucks. And good gravy, did it get UGLY late in the third. Vancouver's Todd Bertuzzi absolutely cold cocked Colorado's Steve Moore from behind while grabbing his sweater. The momentum drove Bertuzzi on top of Moore. Moore, luckily, was conscious and talking to medical personnel while en-route to an area hospital. Derek Morris(now with Phoenix)called the hit premeditated, adding "It was disgusting. There's no other word for that."
Avalanche head coach Tony Granato was absolutely bent, screaming at his counterpart Marc Crawford. Peter Worrell of the 'Lanche was jawing at fans(after getting tossed),and apparently someone on the stands tossed something, which REALLY set him off.
Memo to the NHL:You'd best come down HARD on Bertuzzi, the same way you did with Marty McSorley when he whacked Donald Brashear. And don't tell me you can't do it. You did it before. You can do it again.

Moore has a broken neck, among other injuries from the incident - he faces huge rehab and all kinds of potential long-term physical problems as a result.

Bertuzzi should be banned from the the NHL and all other professional sports for life, and probably will be prosecuted for assault and battery, at the very least... And then, of course, there will be the long-term civil law suits filed against him as well...
