I have heard rumor that the Knicks are interested in Mr. Wallace next year, and that this year he makes the Pistons a title contender.
If your hopes are rested on Rasheed's shoulders, i feel for you. Living in Portland i have had the displeasure of following this knucklehead for the last few years.
I am not going to get into his personality or his technical fouls because i don't really have an issue with that.
What i have an issue with is everyone still talking about his potential, he had been around 8 years now. He will never be more than what he is now, a slightly above average player who has no interest in taking over a game or being the man. I would not have a problem with this if he wasn't always getting paid as if he is the man.
I pray the Knicks do not sign this malingerer in the offseason.

I don't think the Knicks will be able to get Rasheed because we're over the cap and can't offer Wallace any big money, unless he wants to take a significant pay cut. I don't see the Knicks getting him in some kind of a trade because we don't have much to offer.
I would have to think long and hard if I want Rasheed on the Knicks.
Even if you think he was a slightly above average player, he did play in the Western Conference, but, in the Eastern Conference, he would easily be one of the top forwards or centers. The Eastern Conference doesn't really have any dominant forwards or centers. Rasheed could give the Knicks a low post threat.

I see a lot of cap problems if NYK try for Wallace in the offseason, as umberto mentioned. Wallace may stay in Detroit if the Pistons have great success this postseason (say they win the East) but if not I can see him ending up in a variety of places. Maybe Miami.

Rasheed is not a low post player, he could and should be but he thinks he is peja.
I hear he wants to go to NYC and they would offer the exemption.
I hope he does go to Miami, then they wont win a championship for sure

If Rasheed would go back to the way he was in 98-00, you'd atleast make the finals. There was an excellent article on espn insider about him and his shooting percentages and breakdowns. He averaged less than a 3 point attempt a game back then and scored 80 percent of his points from the paint. Now he averages 5 three point attempts a game, shoots 30 percent or less every year, which is terrible for shooting that much, and scores less than 30 percent of his points in the paint. Of course his scoring and rebound averages are way down, not to mention almost cutting his field goal percentage in half. Rasheed is not the reason the Pistons are playing so well. He is merely a role player, no more important than Big Nasty is.

Rasheed Wallace had a huge game tonight, and didn't blow up and get a second T in the 4th. He has really come a long way in just a few short months with Larry Brown. Reminds me of the progress made by AI under Brown in Philly.
