One member of "The Kid Line" found himself in the corner, and then in the minors. Rookie left wing Milan Bartovic, who started the game with rookie center Derek Roy and right wing Maxim Afinogenov, had a team-low 8:02 of ice time after what coach Lindy Ruff felt was a lackluster effort on the Bruins' first goal.
"You look at the first goal, it was an indication of a forward that didn't work hard coming back on transition," Ruff said.
The Sabres sent Bartovic back to Rochester after the game. He had one goal and one assist in seven games with Buffalo.
"Too many turnovers," Bartovic said of the game, prior to his demotion. "We've been working hard, and tonight we didn't work."
