I'd be estatic if Buffalo traded down 5 spots, got an extra 3rd rounder and selected Vernon Carey, G U. of Miami. This guy is a 350 lb mauler projected as guard. He also has a wicked mean streak.

i could see that happening, but only if winslow, reggie williams and roy williams are all gone by #13. then trading down for carey would be a good move. i think we could go down even further than #18, probably into the mid 20s and still pick up Carey. that would mean a higher compensation pick, and even if he isn't there, losman or rivers will probably still be on the board and then we could worry about OL in rounds 2 and 3.

Vernon Carey would look just fine and dandy at ORG right next to Mike Williams! However, I also agree that he could be had in the 20's as the Fieldmarshall so eloquently stated beforehand!!!

Yea, that looks great to me also. The 20's may even be able to net us another round 2 pick. That would be nice. This draft looks pretty deep at some of the positions we actually have a need.

I just read that Tampa may want him at #15. This would be an issue.

Leave Carey alone until round 2. He is WAY over weight. He isn't like Mike Williams who is just plain HUGE, but not fat. Carey was probably 30 lbs over weight for his senior season. That is a red flag to me.

Can Carey play LT, because Tampa's OT are awful.

I don't agree with trading down and drafting Vernon Carey. I wouldn't mind trading down, but don't agree with Carey. I know he is a very good guard. However, I think we have enough good offensive lineman to form a formiddable line. I know you may not agree. But a big reason our offensive line has struggled is because of our OL Coaches the last three years, Vinlarek and Ruel. McNally will turn this thing around. I think we can form a good 5-man line out of guys like Williams, Jennings, Brown, Teague, Price, Tucker, Sobieski, and Sullivan. Just look at what New England did. Their Offensive Line was solid with guys like Dan Koppen, Joe Andruzzi, and Matt Light. None of those guys has the big-name like Vernon Carey.

Yeah, but we could have an Ol as dominant as the HOGS were in the 90's!
