considering antonio brown didn't show us anything this year, and dante hall proved just how valuable a KR can be, i think we should be looking for a guy who can be a KR along with being a CB/WR. two names that jump out at me:

Nathan Vasher, CB, Texas. Definite 2nd rounder, only would recommend him if Winfield leaves. Then let him and McGee battle it out for #2 corner, loser plays nickel and returns punts and kicks.

Bernard Berrian, WR, Fresno St. Don't know which round he will go in, but he is a big play WR with speed and the ability to return kicks. Just what we've been looking for. I'd say grab him if he is still there in round 4.

none of those guys are that much better than Brown IMO (almost broke 2 KR TD's and returned 2 punts for TD's in pre-season).... plus, you don't spend any higher than a 6th on a KR/PR guy. Vasher in round 2 is too high and doesn't fill a need. Berrian wouldn't make an impact on offense.

I think Brown is a good KR, and we have some nice PR's (Clements, McGee, maybe Josh Reed...) if he struggles again there. He'll be a year more experienced (Hall wasn't that great as a rookie was he?) and he does have the speed. I think our blocking schemes for returns may not have been the greatest, I mean we've never had a good return game with Smith.

we went and tried to get charlie rogers one year, because he was supposed to be a fantastic returner. I think, like moulds said it comes with expierience, and especially expirience with your blockers in front of you so you can read them well. Expirience also leads to confidence, and you don't see someone make the moves that good returners do if they don't have confidence. Sometimes a guy will take it all the way who is new at it, but it is more important to get someone who can keep getting good field position consistantly. That comes from picking a guy who you think is good, and sticking with him. Yes we didn't do a good job this past year, but plugging in new guys every year does not help. I wan't to stick with Brown.
