are guessing! Kiper at the Senior Bowl telecast on ESPN (their supposed expert!) had Philip Rivers the 5th rated QB, let alone #8 prospect in the entire draft. One thing to know, they (the draft experts) often get highly questionable information from what they will deem as credible sources. Don't believe everything you read with these guys..... It's simply entertainment ONLY!! Kiper, for instance had J.D. Williams, whom the Bills drafted first in 1991, I believe, as the #1 rated CB in the nation! Any Bills fan of that vintage can tell you he was SLIGHTLY OFF! Only one example of many!!!

Let's wait until after the combine. That's usually the last major scramble of players by position and round. Some will gain that elusive "rising stock/vastly underrated/tremendous upside monicker that will cause GM's to lose all sense of reality.

If we had to take Rivers in round one (which I am opposed to), we should trade down to 19 and get him there. This way we can pick up probably a 2nd or 3rd round pick and still stick it to Miami!

Anybody think we could use this guy?

13. Shawn Andrews Jr. OT Arkansas
Massive (6-5, 360) and a tremendous run-blocker.

I think my top 13 would be right now:

Great size (6-5, 245) plus all the intangibles.
3. Larry Fitzgerald So. WR Pitt.

6. Kellen Winslow Jr. TE Miami
Speed, athleticism and pass-receiving skill of a WR.
7. Sean Taylor Jr. S Miami

8. Philip Rivers Sr. QB NC State

9. Kenechi Udeze Jr. DE USC
Highly productive (16.5 sacks) and can still get better.
10. Reggie Williams Jr. WR Wash.

12. Tommie Harris Jr. DT Oklahoma
Quick off the ball and able to shed blocks.
13. Will Smith Sr. DE Ohio St.
Dominating outside pass rusher.

I think there are 3 franchise QB's in this draft, and if you are looking for a franchise QB and he's on the board when you pick, you should pick him. However, Fitzgerald, Gallery, Roy Williams, Kellen Winslow Jr and Sean Taylor are are all potential franchise blue chip prospects that should go ahead of Rivers. An argument could be made for Udheze, Reggie Williams and Shawn Andrews ahead of Rivers, but I put them at the same level, and if there is not much difference in talent level, I'd go with the QB. The drop off at QB after Rivers I think is the difference between a franchise QB and a crap shoot. I don't like Lossman, he doesn't have that fire and leadership quality you look for in your QB, Pickett ? Schaub ?

TigerJ, I think you could possibly make a RG out of Andrews, imagine Willis and Henry running in the 3 hole between Williams and Andrews. It could be sweet. I'd still take Rivers first, but it would be a tough call and one of the few I wouldn't be too upset to see besides QB.

There you go ! OL with our First Round Pick would really address a MAJOR need, even if we had to move him to a different slot on the line than his college position.

Also, I'm not TigerJ, lol. But it's ok, you're not the first, and you won't be the last.

Appreciate the response to my post :)

Sorry fogwrestler, it was late and my brain must have been on automatic pilot when I saw Garfield.
