Okay Bandit fans,if you were the all powerful leader of the NLL and could change the game, the way the league is ran, maybe move some teams, and not have to have anything okayed with anybody else what would you do?

Some of my thoughts
1. Call the illegal substituation the way the rule book says. The refs let too much go now and it cuts down on the scoring when a defender is leaving the bench before the guy he is replacing is anywhere near the bench.
2. Shrink the crease. I have two different feelings on the crease. First, when a goal is disallowed because somebody has a foot in the crease I think the rule is stupid. But it also adds to the game when you see players like Johnny T flying through the air to score a goal it adds to the game. So I say shrink it a little bit so so not as many goals are called off and the players still have to go over it to score goals.
3.Try to have teams get local TV deals. A national contract is nice, but I would rather see local TV deals in place for more teams. So fans could follow their team on the road and someone who is not a fan is more likely to watch their local team on a local channel then watch Arizona and Colorado play on Fox Sports Net when they live in Buffalo.
4. Try to get a team back in the New York City Area. The problem is that I would want the team to play at MSG because it is the "Worlds most famous arena" and would attract more of a crowd then a team playing on the Island or Jersey where the league has failed already. Maybe if the new arena is Brooklyn wants some more tenants then the Nets when it opens in 2006 they could put a team there.
5. Get team merchandise out in the malls. Right now in Buffalo the only place you can buy Bandits stuff is the HSBC Arena. If they get shirts and jerseys out in the malls more people may buy them. And if people are walking around with Bandits shirts on it is free advertisement for the team.

So, what would you do to make the game better and the league more marketable?

Snarf:some good points. I'll address a couple of them...

3. Again, wise idea. I'm surprised that Colorado & Philly, two teams that draw extremely well, don't have deals in place. They could both partner with regional sports nets(FS Rocky Mtn. & Comcast Sports, respecitively)or an over the air broadcaster.
4. Getting a team back in NYC is a priority....WHEN the NLL is healthy and stable. Right now,it still isn't-if you hang out at the NLL board, they've been making mention of Anaheim attracting a lot of fans disguised as empty seats. But back to the matter at hand:one poster said why not call a NYC team the Bravest? Not a bad idea! And putting the team at the new arena proposed for Brooklyn isn't a bad idea,PLUS you could potentially move the Isles and Arena Football's N.Y.Dragons into the facility, too.(That's ASSUMING there isn't movement to get a new arena out on the Island.
5. As far as merchandise,Heron's Landing on US 20(on the Cattaragus reservation)does have some Sabres gear, but it's painfully thin. And forget about Bandit gear.
