I live in Toronto and watch this guy every night. Sure he can do flashy dunks and his a high flyer but in reality he is not one of the best players in the game. What do you guys think about vinsanity?

I'm a little biased being a Hell fan but when Healthy he is absolutely a top player in the league. His problem is staying healthy. He's a little weak on the defensive end but he's almost unstoppable on O, his dunks get all the highlights but he is an excellent shooter as well.

The knock on Carter has been that he's injury prone. This year,he may have removed it...so far,Vince has played in 37 of the Raps' 40 games(though as of now,he's day to day with a quad injury).

Carl...

I agree, on everything you said from his offencsive skill, to his defencsive skills or lack of defencesive skills. The main thing with him he has to stay healthy which he not been able to give us fans.

When he goes to the basket he's almost unstoppable, but in the last few games that he played - he kept taking 15 to 20 foot jumpers and missed most of them. Actually the whole team has gotten into taking long jumpers or perimeter shots.

He's a great player when he plays great.

I don't know if he is one of the best because he don't do it everynight, but he is a very good player. If it were not for him the Raptors would have less then 20 wins this season. There is not doubt he is the best player on the Raptors.

Lets Go Raptors!

couldn't agree more......hell the Lakers have 3 better players than him, and a 4th that's close.

Vince is an amazing offensive player. He has his off-nights shooting like everyone ele, but when he's on, he can carry a team. He drained a record tying number of 3-balls (like on the day of his college graduation too) in a playoff game a few years ago. He can do more than dunk.

Yea, defense needs some work, but I think he's still not playing all out.... He may be playing softer (even if it isn't a conscious thought) b/c of his injury problems the last couple years,

who isn't good when they are "on"? Point is he hasn't been on since leading that one playoff surge 2 playoffs ago.

He was hurt most of the past 2 seasons and this year until recently he's been healthy and he's played great again.

injuries aside

he's just like any other star in the east or the west for that matter if you dont have owners that arent willing to spend money and pay the luxury tax so they can sign a bunch of good players(even though there are few really good players in the nba right now) your team is going to just be there for teams that are stocked to get wins over

the quality in nba is horrid , can guys stay in school please?? so they can learn some friggin fundamentals

Vince has never returned to the form he showed before his rash of injuries that started over the past couple of seasons. It would have been nice to see he and T-Mac stay together.

he is a baby too when it comes to injury. he left that game 7 a few years back and went to the locker room due to a "bruised nose". what the hell is that.

I agree with Duffy. Vince has the talent but not the heart. Whenever he gets injured he lies on the ground for 20 minutes like he's dead

yeah player it is ridiculous. he has no leadership either. I have seen this guy for 4 years now and he has never showed any disapointment in losing. it is driving me nuts.

The current issue of The Sporting News has Vince on the cover and says he is "better than ever". That is interesting. I'll read it tomorrow.
