Knicks are going right down the toilet. In the last few years Wilkens has been the worst coach in the NBA. Also they have a complete idiot in Isiah Thomas running the show.

What a crazy situation. First it was going to be Mike Fratelo, now its Lenny Wilkens. Thomas has really been doing a lot so far, I'm not sold on how this will all pan out. It seems that Thomas is a bit unsure of where to take the Knicks as a franchise.

this is the worst coach to have hired and because of this move by thomas he can start looking for a new job sooner then he even expected.

I don't think this is a bad move, Lenny is a decent coach. he failed in Toronto b/c Vince Carter was alwyas hurt, the only year he had a healthy Vince he was a shot away from going to the Conf Finals. Lenny is very overrated though, it's very misleading when people say he's the winningest coach in NBA history, while that's true that's more b/c he coached more games than anybody. I don't think the guy has even made a conf finals since the 70s.

If I were a Knickerbockers fan I would not be upset about the move. I would rather have Lenny Wilkens then Mike Fratelo as a head coach. Fratelo is a much better color commentator then head coach.

As for Wilkens, he was the head coach of the Cavs in the early 90's right, so he had to make it to the conference finals and lose to the Bulls sometime in there, the Cavs had a good team back then.

trust me on this lenny has no coaching abilities left. As for as I know lenny will the coach for the rest of the season and my bold prediction is that he would probably get fired before the season ends. I know it would not happen but it woudln't surprise me. Besides Isiah wouldn't fire him to save face.

Lenny has been the worst coach in the league the past 10 years. He killed the Raptors and ruined the Hawks.

I don't like the moves they made. They now acquired long contracts for overpaid players. Marbury is a selfish player that has failed in New Jersey, Minnesota, and Pheonix. He takes wild shots and has bad attitude. Penny is injury prone and not the player he was when he was on Orlando. Just wait and see when Marbury starts trying to do everything and Houston and Company gets really frustrated with his act. Thomas may have hurt the Knicks for years to come instead of trying to slowly rebuild them

You are right, Clevland made the Conf Finals in '92 losing to Chicago in 6 games.

wow is there something im missing. How can you say lenny has been the worst coach in the past 10 years. Wasnt he considered like one of the best coachs ever when he went to toronto. The guy is smart. Can he still do it. Maybe not but dont say he was the worst coach for the last 10 year. Comon now there have been some really bad coaches

I heard today that Wilkins has only been to 1 Conference Finals in over 20 years of coaching. I was stunned to hear this, his wins record seems inflated without any postseason success. This looks more and more like a bad hire by Thomas.

Anyone who refuses to double-team Jordan is an idiot. He cost the Cavs that series.

What has Lenny done since his 78/79 championship. nothing.

Most losses ever by a coach : Lenny Wilkens

What people forget when looking at his all-time wins record is he also hold the record for most losses by a coach. His wins record is strictly a longevity issue, he's not a bad coach but he's not a great coach which you would think since he has the tag of all-time winningest coach.
