BANDITS WEEKLY SHOW TO AIR LIVE FROM PEARL STREET
Buffalo, N.Y. (January 13, 2004) — The Buffalo Bandits announced today that home color analyst Randy Mearns will be hosting a weekly lacrosse radio show on WJJL-AM 1440. “Wednesday Night Lacrosse Hour” will be broadcast live from the Pearl Street Grill and Brewery from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM every Wednesday night. The first 45 minutes of the broadcast will be dedicated to the Buffalo Bandits and the National Lacrosse League while the final 15 minutes will be dedicated to the local lacrosse scene. Interested fans are welcome to attend the tapings or call in with a comment or question.
Mearns, a 1992 graduate of Canisius College, is currently in his sixth season as head coach for Canisius’ Varsity Lacrosse team. On July 1, 2003, Mearns became the first full-time head coach of the men’s lacrosse in the 14-year history of the program.
Mearns was originally drafted by the Bandits in the fourth round (24th overall) of the 1993 MLL Entry Draft but played only two seasons in a Buffalo uniform (1993, 2002). For his career, Mearns scored 62 goals and 152 assists for 214 points in 95 games.
The Bandits’ next home game is on Friday, February 6, at 7:30 PM vs. the Rochester Knighthawks.
