I always thought Maryland/Washington DC should have an NLL team. Although, the NLL didn't work in DC the first time and it didn't in Syracuse.
I think Boston and Bridgeport, CT should have teams becasue they have MLL teams. Bah-stin had the Blazers back in the old MILL.
In conclusion, I'd like to see a team in the Rose Garden, mpw, but not b4 there are more here in the east. Even KC or St. Louis I wouldn't mind seeing if their is interst cms.

Actually Washington has had two oppertunities with the Washington Wave (folded) and the Washington Power (now in Colorado).
Baltimore had a team for a loooong time, the Baltimore Thunder, but they move to Pittsburg.
Actually the Baltimore team was first the Thunder, then moved to Pittsburg to become the CrosseFire, then they moved to Washington to become the Power, then finally found a home in Denver as the Colorado Mammoth. Attendance is the reason that this franchise kept moving, but they are currently drawing between 16,000 to 18,000 fans a game.

i doubt it is popular enough for us to have a team here, but there is a grassroots surge in players at the high school level. i think in a few years it will be very popular

I think Boston should get another chance to have a team. While attendence was not great when the Blazers were in Boston, it was not as bad as some of the other cities that the Eagle/MILL/NLL had folded or moved teams out of. As for Bridgeport, they really do not support the Barrage in the summer time, so I don't know if they would support an box lacrosse team.

Snarf, I am with you. Boston should be the first city to weclome back a team. They have been without for a while now. The success of the Barrage has been great and I think that front office staff could do well with an indoor team. The league though is now looking at NHL/NBA teams as owners and I am not sure how the Bruins/Celtics ownerships are.
The NLL also needs to get a team back in the Metropolitian New York area. I know the Saints didn't do well but that is a key market for development.

not much, but I went to visit my uncle in Suburban Buffalo a few years ago and when I saw the game I was hooked. Now I only rarely see it on sattelite and I miss it really.

The problem with Boston is getting an arena that will accept them. When the Blazers were there, they played in the Fleet Center, and when that moron who owned them decided that he needed to suspend operations for a year (this was in '97) it was like 2 months before the start of the season, the arena dates were booked, the schedule was out, and he defaulted on his lease for the arena. Fleet Center wants nothing what so ever to do with the NLL now, and no matter how badly the league would love a team in Boston, unless they have a place to play, it's not happening.

How about the Hartford Civic Center, Centrum Centre in Worcester, the Springfield Civic Center, or Dunkin' Donuts Center in Providence??

I think the only one of those arenas with enough seats would be the Mall in Hartford, and I don't know if anyone in Hartford really wants an NLL team.
Bandit, that moron who owned the Blazers was Frank DuRoss right?

Jeremy Jacobs??

Snarf ..
Yeah, it was DuRoss ... he burned every possible bridge he could burn for the league when he pulled that crap ... it'll be tough to get a team back in Boston, that's for sure.
SabreJeff .. the league won't put a team in an arena that seats less than 10K .. I'm not very familiar with any of those arenas, but if one or more of them is big enough maybe there's still hope for a team in that area.

Sabrejeff and Bandit, I guess I am wrong on the size of the arenas. The Dunkin' Donuts Center, Providence holds 14,000 according to its website and the Worcester Centrum Center holds 14, 808 according to its website. I could not the capacity of the Springfield Civic Center, but when I get a chance I will go through my old Hockey News and find the AHL season preview because I know it had the capacity of AHL arenas in there.
As for Frank DuRoss, I am just happy he did not get the Sabres and Bandits when he was trying to buy them. Seemed like all he did was hold press conferences outside of the arena. Well, I can't say to much bad about the guy, he does a good job with the Rhinos and Rattlers.

Actually the real hope for the NLL in Boston would have to be Jacobs. I'm not sure if he was one of the people that took the loss when the Blazers were put in suspension (can't remember the year he took over the Bruins), but he is the one that could bring them back.
