The Knicks and Suns have agreed to a multiplayer trade Monday that would return Stephon Marbury to his hometown.

New York would acquire Marbury, Penny Hardaway, and Cezary Trybanski from Phoenix for Antonio McDyess, Howard Eisley, Charlie Ward, Maciej Lampe, the rights to Milos Vujanic, and cash.

The Suns also would receive two first-round draft picks -- the Knicks' first-round pick in the 2004 draft, which is unprotected, and a future conditional first-rounder, ESPN.com has learned.

What do you think of this trade?

Personally, I think it's a good trade for the Knicks. The Knicks needed a good point guard and got one in Marbury. It's not like the Knicks were going far, anyway, before this trade was agreed on. They are a better team now, then they were before. My only worry is how Marbury will handle himself with the Knicks. He has been known to be a troublemaker. Also, Marbury and Van Horn don't exactly get along. Hopefully, they can patch things up. They will probably get in the playoffs with this team, but I am not sure how far they can go.

I'm just not sure why the Suns were so quick to dismantel there team. Marbury and Penny were there 2 best scores and now they are gone. Now the Knicks have all the offensive firepower in the world.

The suns are dismanteling because they can not win a championship as they are currently comprised. They are at best the 5th best team in the west and that is stretching it given their record right now.

As for the Knicks i may be able to sit through a whole game now...Thanks Isaih

In a blockbuster eight-player trade between New York and the Phoenix Suns, Marbury, Penny Hardaway and Cezary Trybanski were dealt Monday to the Knicks for Antonio McDyess, Howard Eisley, Charlie Ward, Maciej Lampe, the rights to Milos Vujanic and two first-round draft picks.

Thomas is actually doing what he said after he took over. Good trade for the Knickerbockers

Knicks got the best player, thus they got the better of the trade. Suns were clearing cap space.

I merged the two threads...

This a huge trade, and I love it. I like the Knicks and want to see them contend. Marbury and Houston make NYK's backcourt as good as any in the East. Hardaway and Shandon Anderson are solid bench guys, and now I hope that Sweetny will get a better shot to play. Marbury is the East's second best PG, slightly better than Davis IMO.

As for Phoenix, they are out of it this year already, as being under .500 in the West is the kiss of death. Something is definatley wrong out there, they shouldn't be that bad. Coaching and effort has been a big issue. Another new coach will be needed after the season. With 20 million in cap room next offseason, Phoenix needs to make a play for Kobe. If they could add Bryant at the 2 to Marion at the 3 and Stoudamire at the 4 or even 5, that is as solid a top three as any in the league, maybe better than everyone else. If Phoenix sits on the cash and doesn't bring anyone in after the season, this deal turns sour for them. For the Knicks, it's all good.

the knicks win the trade because they got the best player in Marbury.
