The Flames are playing some good hockey these days, do you think they can make the playoffs in the west? It is great to see a small market team doing well. And i love iginla

I don't think they have enough to make it to the playoffs, but I agree they are playing well.

And 10 games ago, they had fewer points than us. Don't make it sound like the Flames are "there."
And for the record, Sutter is one guy I would have replaced Ruff for. He did a wonderful job in SJ, before he was scapegoated. He will do the same in Calgary.

I wouldn't mind Dean Lombardi replacing Regier either.

why do i always get this impression that lafontaine thinks he is right about everything. Sutter is doing a great job and the Flames are "there" right now. Man you can really irritate me sometimes

Kiprusoff is playing well, he's got a .940 Save Percentage and a 1.47 GAA in 12 games so far this season, and Jaime McLennan has also played decent with a .914 Save Percentage and a 1.94 GAA in 16 games. Kiprusoff is 9-2-1, very impressive. If you can get goaltending like this and make few defencive mistakes, success is attainable even on a budget. Ask a team like The Wild last year.

The Flames are Cup contenders? My bad, you are right - the Flames are there. Kiprusoff and McLennan have played as much as Noronen did when everyone save one person called for him to start 5 games in a row. The Flames goaltending is obviously fixed after about 15 games.
You QUESTIONED YOURSELF. In the first post, you wonder aloud whether the Flames can make the playoffs. In your second post in this thread, you say that this is where the Sabres want to be. Sorry, I don't want to be where you are wondering whether we are going to make the playoffs. I want you to be wondering whether we will sweep the team for the Cup and whether we can do this for 5 years.
At this time last year, the Colorado Avalance were a .450 team. It is too early to decide anything.

no the flames are not "there" in terms of the cup. however, they are there in terms of the playoff spot and this all the sabres can hope for this eyar. Thats what i meant, i know you had delusions about the sabres this year (as i did about the bills) but they simply are not good enough!

bduff, you have to remember that this is a public message board. It isn't like you are at the bar with your boys where you can discuss or argue about things. People come on here and have ideals that you or I aren't going to change. There are definitely people on this board that think they know everything. Sure there are posters that rub me the wrong way and I probably do the same to others, but who really cares. Just let it roll off. By the way, the Leafs suck.

I was hoping you would take that last comment as an inside joke.
