The Vancouver Ravens acquired defenseman Andy Ogilvie from the Buffalo Bandits in exchange for a first round selection in the 2005 or 2006 Entry Draft.

"We’re really pleased to add such a veteran defensive player to the Raven mix," said Ravens Head Coach Paul Dal Monte. "Andy will not only anchor the defensive end for the Ravens, but he’s a proven leader and makes those players around him that much better by the example he sets both on and off the turf. This acquisition reflects the commitment we’ve made to the Vancouver fans to put the best possible product on the floor to make that transition from playoff contender to championship contender," concluded Dal Monte.

The 6’ 1’ 210lb left handed Peterborough native is a five-year League veteran, playing all five as a member of the Bandits squad, during which he played in 47 games amassing 56 points (7G, 49A) and capturing 331 loose balls.

Gonna miss Andy O greatly but i think we should be ok and we will find someone beofore the season starts to help out the bandits a little more. It just means Kyle couling will have to setep it up.

it will be a big loss for the bandits he was a big, tough, physical player. this just means that the younger guys are going to have to step up and fill his shoes. this will give the younger guys more chances to show what they can do.

Not to worry people, Darris will get the rest of the defense to step up and fill Andy's role on the floor .... and I'm sure he's got a few tricks up his sleeve to get a few more big, tough D-guys on the roster as well. There won't be any wuss-lacrosse in BanditLand this season!

Andy will be missed, but Derek Suddons is out there, and would be a nice replacement if the NLL and the PLPA ever get things worked out. I think that Kurk Silcott knows what he is doing and would not give up Andy unless he had a replacement in mind.

Darris and wuss-lacrosse in the same sentence? That's as bad as thinking that Kurt might know what he's doing!:D Trades for draft picks drive me absolutely crazy. There's no JT's out there that can "get it done" in a rookie season. Lets win now! Give Darris the keys to the Bandit war machine and "damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead"!

Ogie was to the Bandits what Rob Ray was to the Sabres. Other teams knew who to put out there when Ogie was on the floor, guys that could take a punch/hit or run like heck! Ogie has a Mann Cup MVP ring next to the Mann Cup ring, that's leadership you wont get from a "draft pick". Sure, Ogie's up there in age so it'd be tough to get a 3 yr vet D-man but we'll need someone to fill the role now. C'mon Kurt, tell us you're wheeling and dealing a monster deal to make the war machine un-freakin'-stoppable.:machinegu
