Canisius--Pretty average. Both the men and the women look good. Men are 2-2 while the women are 2-1. Both have big tests on the road coming up.
UB--Doing the worst out of the Big 4 schools. Looks like it will be another lost season for the men, but things could change. They're 0-3 with some fairly tough opponents coming up. Women are 0-2 with a chance to turn things around.
Niagara--Looks great at this point. Men are 2-0 so far. Women are 1-1--both teams will be tested soon as they open MAAC play.
Bona--Average right now. Men are 2-1, and have the toughest test so far out of all the Big 4 schools as they face Syracuse tonight. Women are 1-2, but things could turn around.
Predictions?

UB wont be as bad as you think. They lost a very close game in their opener to Canisuis who played great in the 2nd half and then lost a stupid one to Rutgers who is a decent Big East team this year. Then they only lost by 3 to a Big Ten team in Penn. St., i don't think theyd be the worst of the bg 4 they'll do better than you think. Remeber they play in the biggest conference, and have a poor recruiting program.

I'm not on the up and up on the Big 4, but from what I've read, the Buff News (I think) said they're a lot more talented than people think. And Bona's starting over, so they have to be near the bottom, I'd think.

On the Mens side (I know nothing about womans basketball)
Canisus is an average to below average MAAC team
Niagara will contend with Manhatten for the MAAC title, and it could be the Purps first trip to the NCAA's in along time.
UB is really really bad for the conference they play in. A MAC school should not be losing on their home floor to a average MAAC school. As for Penn State, they stink, and UB if they had any talent they would have won the game. UB will come in last or close to in in the MAC.
St. Bona is a pretty good team. They are rebuilding after last year's scandal but they are the best of the Big 4 teams. That don't mean they are going to win their conference because the A-10 is the best of the conferences that the local teams play in. The Reilly Center is one of the hardest places to play (Thats why the game is at the BCA tonight), so Bona could win most or all of their home games.
Some should move this to the Basketball forum.
