When creating a stadium, in which option does it allow you to have a dome or not. The only option that I saw that was even close to that was "roof" but it only gave me choices for lighting. Please help!

if ya choose the 4 6 or 8 lights... its an open stadium..... all the roofs are domes... so if ya select a "roof" thats a dome

im aware of the light situation, my problem is that I only get the option for the lights, there is no roof option

have you guys noticed on madden that al michaels and john have a lot more to say when in demo mode than when you are playing?

Ya I know... I think because the demos are planned out and they know what's going to happen.

The game not the commentator. He's just as annoying on the game as in real life.

Is it just me or is it really hard to play defense against the computer? I'm playing at all pro. I always get beat for big plays. The scores to the games usually end up something like 42-35.

its not you the difficulty between rookie and pro is quite a jump. i always have lots of turnovers, at least one T. Henry fumble a game

ummm im not gloating but i can pretty much shutdown the computer on all pro

ya need to expiriment w/ d, the way i play is usually try to concentrate on stopping the run at the start of the game

also, it helps to figure out which way to shift your d line and lbs on certain plays particularly blitzes

and i have the best d for the 2 min drill that usually results in an int return for a td(one season i had 19 picks w/ clements and 18 tds by him , 18 picks w/ winfield and 13 tds that season my offense barely took the field between my d and special teams , which had dennis northcutt returning kicks;) )

i barely use bump and run , i find its a quick way to get burnt by a wr if you dont get to the qb

it is posible to shutdown the computer, especially w/ the way they overrate our cbs in that game

some deffense i use:

double te (some shifting) against 2 wr 1 te and 2 rbs

edge sting (man) for 3 wr 1 te 1 rb (some shifting)

silver (man) same formation (more shifting)

undersmoke nickel version (man) 3 wr 0 te 2 rbs (even more shifting)

under man dime version (shift) 4 wr 0 te 1 rb

well this is what i use and works great for me , i also select aaron schobel to control cuz its pointless to contol a lb or db way to easy to get burnt

like i said expiriment

also bledsoe kicked ass for me

your gloating ..lol
thanks for the tips though, i usualy get burnt deep once a game and i have trouble moving the ball and loose 19-14 or something. very frustrating, but i have only played a couple weeks

I don't play much against the computer. Usually it's one on one with other people.

For blitzing, I think the dime formation Strike play is a good way to get pressure on a human opponent. 4-3 Double TE is a great defense against running plays and stuff.

On offense (passing) I run a ton of curl patterns, they're damn near unstoppable. I run the ball with a lot of counters and lead plays.

My problem is that rarely play the game when I'm sober. I'm always talking junks with my boys and pulling on a big fat L.
I do find that I have a lot of success in the 4-3 and nickel defenses. I prefer to roll with PW. Although he is a DT, I find he can toss most Guards or Centers aside. I was had 4 sacks and 3 passes deflected in one game. (Sam Adams caught one of them for an INT but was pulled down on the 4-yd line.)

All I know is if you are going to blitz I always play press coverage with my CBs. And on offense I always set up my audibles to have 1 run play to the right and 1 to the left. Then if the computer shifts its D-line or LBs I just audible to a run in the other direction. Works like a charm.

If you use the Bills right... They are awesome!! The Defense is Killer... I play online, cause the computer doesn't always play a straight up game.... (beware a lot of douches online though)
Don't mean to gloat but my D is stellar.. and i have the potential to beat anyone, no matter what team they use.... (ok so i mean to gloat) well i actually can't seem to beat the Bills... lol... the only team that gives me trouble...
I use the 4-3 defense book, and bills offensive playbook...
If you just expand from your comfort zone of plays and experiment you'll find such a wide vary of plays that are tough to beat!

billsrgreat i cant stand the cheese factor either....

which is why i havent played 2004 online much i dont even remember my name i think it might be "playmaker"

if you played last yr i went by the names of SATAN: ) and keizer sosey

and got ranked pretty damn high w/ my SATAN: ) profile somewhere around 110

mighty peace warrior
April 2nd, 2004, 5:11:09 PM
well i have the defense down pretty tight but i still have too many turnovers on offense and difficulty moving the ball. I am too commited to the run i think.

what is cheese factor? i played once online and the guy quit after i picked him off twice

dogginbox
April 2nd, 2004, 5:51:21 PM
well that counts as a cheese factor. many things can be cheesy such as someone who picks goal line all the time to run the ball, going for it on 4th down constantly, a thing called glitch blitzing where they position maybe a lb in a particular spot manually, taking a player from another position and putting him in another like a wr at rb

i havent played in a long time i know there are more things but cant think of them right now

BillsRGreat
April 2nd, 2004, 6:14:18 PM
There's a lot more.... sadly.... and the worst part about it is some people call real plays cheese (i have one specific example that's pretty funny) When online a lot of people will come out in a punt block when you punt, so i put a punt fake pass audible for those situations... Whenever some moron tries to block me early in the game... whoop.. sam gash First down!!

Dogginbox... ranked 110 last year.. that's awesome... if your ever up for a game... sign on and look me up

i just started playing madden again its been a long time and havent been online in about a yr the cheese d!@#$ really ruin the experience

but in that yr that i havent played i put a linksys router on my pc and unfortunately bought a new ps2.

so i got a question maybe you can help me w/

do i have to reconfigure my network adaptor now w/ the router and new ps2

also when you pick fake punt are you doing that from like your 20 or when youre already up?

if thats the case thats kinda cheesy

but yeah when i get these things figured out and the time id be glad to throw down

BillsRGreat
April 3rd, 2004, 12:47:58 PM
Yeah... i think you might have to reconfigure, even if you don't "have" too... it might be for the best, i heard a lot of people saying they had problems when changing to routers etc....

I put in the post about the fake punt, specifically "early in the game" plus with madden's online fair play settings, you can't do it when your up a lot.... And depending how the game's going i actually might (emphasis on might) try it in deep in their territory... it's usually a situational call.... But truthfully, i wouldn't have to worry abou that being cheese if the person i'm playing wouldn't be so greedy and want the ball back

It's realistic because if you run more, it's easier to pass. I run Henry in the goal line formation a lot. Try that. He usually can't be stopped. Use McGahee in some formations too, so you'll always have a fresh RB. Any time you see Moulds in man coverage, audible and send him down the field and just lob it up. He will get it 90% of the time. I change a receiver's route on almost every pass play. Like in the shotgun, when Shaw is lined up in the slot and Reed is on the outside and they're playing zone. Send Reed deep then change Shaw's route so he runs to the left and he will be open.

I'm not an expert but this is what works for me on offense.

hey all my Madden name online for PS2 is "Here We Go A" im down to play anyone, no quiting though i play all my tail kickens out. everyone down to play PM me with you name so I know who you are thanks

Why when you play online like against the Eagles they never seem to drop a pass, or Tiki never fumbles some of that stuff is so not like how they really are pisses me off when that happens or give a silly 4 and20 first down. heck I just lost to the Browns had no sacks, like there oline was the best out there

my favorite "cheese" play to pull (only when its a serious no holds bared for game money or something) is this: (pretty simple but effective)

on extra points hold the button to make the D go off sides and then run a 2 point conversion in GL set from the 1 yard line...

gotta wait a while before you can do it again on most people though...

damn, I've got to practise more -----

I play alone all the time ( here in the UK, my mates all play FIFA)
and I just cannot stop the machine scoring - I regularly lose 40 + points a game - mostly to long passes with the odd 80 yard run.
